Main responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the category/brand teams to establish and implement product safety and risk assessment strategies within agreed timescales to bring competitive advantage to Sanofi CHC brands.
- Generate the global, core regulatory dossier and relevant human health safety assessments to deliver a pipeline of product innovation in the assigned Category segment(s).
- Work with cross function teams to ensure on-going regulatory and safety compliance of Sanofi’s existing CHC product portfolio.
- Work closely with internal & external partners, contractors and licensees to ensure that product safety issues are properly managed and resolved.
- Ensure products are properly categorized for hazard per global requirements and guidelines.
- Ensure that hazard and risk mitigation information is incorporated into core Product Safety Data Sheets for products in accordance with Sanofi CHC policies and statutory requirements.
- Provide expertise in Proposition 65/SB 484 and external industry coalition ingredient issue tracking to ensure corporate compliance.
- Interact, as necessary, with Marketing, Legal and Regulatory Departments to develop claim opportunities stemming from ingredients/formulations
- Assist with preparing/approving memos for product release for HUT/BASES/sensory testing
- Support documentation requests for formulation inquiries, scientific/technical inquiries, gluten-free/Kosher, Sodium/calcium/mg content, Animal testing policies, BSE/TSE
- Prepare “expert statements” and support documentation/data reviews for third party acquisitions
- Support literature collection and reviews for technical “white” papers as needed
- Support Consumer Safety Head in developing and updating relevant SOPs as needed.
- Supports on any new innovation projects, life cycle management and implementation of required post marketing studies.
Experience:
- Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Biopharmaceutical industry, ideally 3-5 years in consumer healthcare pharmaceutical industry experience with the conduct and preparation of Safety Assessments and Evaluations, Health/Toxicology Risk Assessments, Exposure Assessments, toxicology study design experience (in vivo or in vitro), including the monitoring of toxicology studies, is mandatory.

Technical skills:
- Knowledge of global Regulatory Requirements related to safety assessments, toxicological issues and concerns for consumer products.
- Knowledge of applicable product registration requirements, the CIR (Cosmetic Ingredient Review) and PCPC (Personal care Products Council), and toxicology risk management is preferred.
- SOT (Society of Toxicology) membership is preferred.

Education:
- Formal education in the field of Toxicology is required and a Ph.D. degree in Toxicology is preferred.
