The Global Growth Markets Division was established in 2013 to build the long-term presence in new high growth markets, particularly in India, Brazil, and China, to accelerate the company’s transformation as a global, professional solutions provider.


Wolters Kluwer has been in India for more than a decade. What started as a print book distribution business has expanded into a diverse operation that is driving growth through multiple digital solutions while evolving the original print business into a comprehensive set of print and increasingly digital solutions for students, residents, faculty and practicing physicians. Some of the products sold in India are created by Wolters Kluwer global divisions and sold in India. Others are sold in India by a separate team outside of Global Growth Markets. These latter products still benefit from local support and collaboration and have the potential to move into the Global Growth Markets portfolio in the future. 


The Product Marketing Specialist – Open Access will work closely with colleagues in Product Marketing, Product Management, Central Marketing, and others as needed, owning the marketing for a portfolio of fully open access journals. They would be responsible for developing campaign strategies, leading the creation of multi-channel marketing plans, and overseeing their successful execution. In addition, this role also supports programs that enable submissions growth across the journals open access portfolio in the country and plays a key role in generating opportunities in the dynamic open access market.


The other key responsibility will be to bridge the gap between market research and strategic execution. The role involves conducting in-depth market analysis, developing compelling product messaging, and coordinating with various teams to ensure successful campaign launches. The Product Marketing Specialist – Open Access will make significant contributions to the overall product marketing strategy, leveraging their skills to enhance our market presence and drive customer engagement.


Market Positioning & Business Growth


  • Market Segmentation & Positioning: Drive the overarching strategic framework for segmentation, targeting, and positioning, aligning with corporate growth objectives. Collaborate with senior leadership across Marketing, Publishing, and Sales to set long-term strategic priorities and ensure market differentiation.
  • Data-Driven Customer & Market Intelligence: Spearhead advanced analytics and market research initiatives to derive actionable insights that shape business strategies, influence product development, and enhance customer engagement.

Enterprise-Level Marketing Strategy & Execution


  • Performance Optimization: Establish enterprise-level marketing objectives, defining key performance indicators (KPIs) and measurement frameworks to assess business impact and drive continuous improvement.
  • Marketing Execution & Enablement: Direct cross-functional teams and external partners in executing multi-channel campaigns, leveraging digital transformation, automation, and emerging marketing technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Cross-Functional Stakeholder Engagement


  • Cross-Functional Stakeholder Engagement: Lead high-level engagement with Publishing, Sales, and executive leadership to ensure marketing strategies are aligned with broader business objectives, adapting plans based on market shifts and competitive dynamics.

Revenue Growth & Market Expansion


  • Demand Generation: Identify and implement high-impact demand generation programs to accelerate Read & Publish deal acquisitions, strengthen customer relationships, and drive long-term revenue growth.
  • Strategic Account & Partnership Management: Cultivate and strengthen high-value relationships with key external stakeholders and industry partners, ensuring sustained collaboration, contract retention, and mutual business success.

Skills and Abilities:


  • Bachelor’s degree with relevant master’s degree; Relevant certifications in product marketing or related fields preferred. 
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in strategic marketing, product marketing, or a related leadership role, with a strong track record of driving business growth.
  • Exposure in developing and executing high-impact marketing strategies that align with business objectives, enhance brand positioning, and deliver measurable revenue outcomes.
  • Proven ability to architect and lead multi-channel marketing campaigns at scale, leveraging digital, content, and performance marketing to maximize audience reach, engagement, and conversion.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external partners to align priorities and drive strategic initiatives forward.
  • Exceptional ability to manage and oversee complex, high-value marketing portfolios, ensuring seamless execution across multiple projects while maintaining strategic focus.
  • Expertise in market positioning and competitive differentiation, with the ability to align product offerings with emerging industry trends, customer needs, and business growth opportunities.
  • Advanced data-driven marketing and analytics capabilities, using sophisticated reporting, performance insights, to refine marketing strategies and optimize campaign effectiveness.
  • Proven track record of managing high-value client and partner relationships, delivering tailored marketing programs that drive client satisfaction, retention, and long-term business success.
  • Experience with Open science research, research integrity a plus.
