Job Description
The role includes all technical challenges associated with analyzing, maintaining, designing & developing, and testing software to meet the business needs of MillerKnoll, and this position is to create and maintain product data that represent MillerKnoll's product offering. The product data is used for the specification of the MillerKnoll furniture family of products in specification software such as pCon Planner. This role enforces the responsibility on the individual not just to manage, process, and automate the process but also to ensure its accuracy before publishing it to the development/integration teams for further use. Candidates having sound experience in PDM/PIM/QA systems or similar are ideal we cater to a product development team working on industry-leading space planning and visualization technology.
Responsibilities
- Individually develop/contribute and maintain data vocabulary content for our custom extensions.
- Analyze additions and changes to MillerKnoll's vocabulary of products to determine their impact on data that drives the pCon tool and make changes and test appropriately.
- Ensure data accuracy of products, options, prices etc. and ensuring a consistency of data representation across product lines.
- Create and maintain 2D and 3D product data, including models (converted from CAD formats), bill of materials, texture materials, and other visualization elements to support product offerings.
- Conduct thorough self-testing of data before submission to the QA team to ensure functionality and accuracy, minimizing errors in formal reviews.
- Collaborate with legacy system teams to drive data exports from legacy systems and assist in establishing automated synchronization processes for continuous data updates.
- Provide additional support by performing tasks as needed to meet business objectives and project deadlines.
- Work within an Agile framework, contributing to iterative development cycles and adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Assist in documentation and reporting, ensuring all data handling and updates are accurately tracked and recorded for future reference.
Skills & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent, or in related fields such as Mechanical or Civil Engineering, with 6 or more years of experience in data analysis, creation, and manipulation.
- Experience testing applications including 2D/3D based CAD customization tools and web applications in a large scale fast paced environment
- Proficiency in SQL/MySQL/RDBMS and any other programming/scripting languages is valuable asset.
- Proven working knowledge of OFDA/OFML is value addition.
- Should be detail oriented and possess analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical and functional problems with intuitive problem-solving techniques.
- Highly self-motivated and organized to achieve the monthly product release cycles.
- Good communication skills verbal and written (English).
- Strong team collaboration skills to work efficiently across departments and with remote teams.
- Ability to work to predefine priorities as part of a multi-regional team.
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments and technologies while maintaining focus on the task at hand.
- Should be willing to be flexible in terms of working shifts (12.00 pm to 9.00pm).
