Job Description Sourcing
Sourcing sub function is critical in the Aerospace Obsolescence review cycle to determine long range needs required to support the complete lifecycle of a product. You will be responsible for engaging with suppliers and perform supplier negotiations by looking at each part holistically.
You will be responsible for working on multiple parts and suppliers simultaneously starting from the RFI stage to PO placement.
In this capacity, you will be required to evaluate OEM suppliers, approved distributors as well as brokers. Working within the Obsolescence function, most of the parts are hard to find and no longer manufactured or past the End of Life (EOL) dates. You will work with applicable cross-functional teams including AME, Engineering, OMT’s, Demand Planning, Purchasing, Marketing and others to determine appropriate course of action which may include but not limited to Bridge Buy, Life Time Buy.
Being a senior member of the team, In addition to the standard buyer responsibilities, you Act as single point liaison to resolve any supplier payment issues, Credit holds, payment term deviations or supplier escalations. Coordinate with AP, Finance, Site receiving, quality. Be a Subject matter expert in to resolve SAP tool related issues. You will also be responsible to review and improve the current processes in sourcing and develop VSM and action plans.
Support sourcing activities and material coordination efforts for Obsolescence redesign programs for Electronics parts and Material Obsolescence management. Resource will need to work closely with Site & suppliers for Red label / Black Label builds by ensuring all material is available and the factory MPS is aligned to delivery schedule. Coordinate for factory reprioritization or rescheduling of factory build plans.
You will be the Subject matter expert on Broker purchases and responsible not only for the overall CAWS process, but also for CAWS / NRE cost tracking for AOP planning as part of Obsolescence Momentum budget management.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors of engineering degree Specialized in Computer science/ Information science/ Elec / Mech or equivalent. Electrical Preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in integrated supply chain / Manufacturing function PLUS strong Analytics / data mining / Automation experience.
Additional Qualifications:
• MBA or a Management Qualification preferred.
• Strong negotiation skills and procure to pay cycle.
• Strong computer application and data analysis skills, including MS Excel and MS Access, SQL, BO.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
