Process/FEED/MAC Specialist (f-m-d)


A Snapshot of Your Day 


As a member of an international development organization, you’re building up and leading a Process, FEED, and MAC (Main Automation Contractor) Expert team and execute process design and engineering efforts from concept through detailed design in a system integration environment for Marine, Offshore and Process Industry. The Technology solutions are part of our integral Electrification, Automation and Digital products. This role is responsible for providing expert-level knowledge in Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and Main Automation Contractor (MAC) functions, ensuring project success through comprehensive planning, coordination, and execution of engineering deliverables. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the oil & gas, petrochemical, specialty chemicals and will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure projects meet quality, schedule, and cost objectives.


This includes engineering contribution in the SE Industrial Process. We’re working within an agile process environment to ensure efficiency and flexibility. Effective communication with the international team is a crucial aspect of your role, and your goal is to collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to prepare bid documents, optimize project costs, and support business development efforts. that meets the needs of the SE industry.


Your new role – challenging and future-oriented:


  • Lead and develop process engineering designs, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), heat and material balances, and equipment specifications.
    • Conduct process simulations and optimizations to ensure efficient design and safe operation.
    • Identify and resolve technical issues related to process engineering throughout project phases.
    • Drive the FEED phase by coordinating with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
    • Develop and review detailed engineering packages, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
    • Facilitate the decision-making process during the FEED phase to optimize design, technology selection, and overall project strategy.
    • Serve as the main point of contact for automation contractors, ensuring all MAC-related activities align with project objectives.
    • Oversee the development and integration of automation systems, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory compliance.
    • Manage the interface between process engineering and automation, including control philosophies, instrumentation specifications, and integration testing.
    • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and project team members.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in process engineering, FEED, and Automation.

• Ability to communicate clearly and precisely, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization.


• Ability to work in a flexible, multi-functional, team-based, development environment that is comprised of both local Siemens Energy Engineers and 3rd party consultants/contractors.


We don’t need superheroes, just super minds:


Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
• 15+ years of experience in process engineering, with significant experience in FEED and MAC roles within the oil & gas, petrochemical, or related industries.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, ProMax, etc.).
• Strong understanding of industry standards (API, ASME, IEC, etc.) and regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with control systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA) and instrumentation.
• Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering issues.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and manage cross-functional interfaces effectively.
• Experienced in working in international projects execution and global initiatives like hydrogen solutions, decarbonation etc.
