Mission


  • Key missions of the position:
    • Responsible for Methods Engineering –AMD / WMD Products, Digitalization & Machining
    • Facility creation for new projects and process improvements in existing projects in AMD / WMD
    • On time completion of Industrial set up along with FAI / validation approval

Responsibilities


     Main responsibilities:


  • Establishment of New facility equipment and proving with process
  • Establishment of process (machining & assembly) for new products and make its corresponding documents like process data sheet (PDS), operation data sheet (ODS), Assembly instructions sheet (AIS) etc.
  • Implementation of TOT (Transfer of Technology) projects from our SISCO and gets approval from customer
  • Induction Hardening, MPI Machine & Balancing Machine trial & Prove out
  • Machine & tooling prove out
  • Low-cost Automation & Poka Yoke Implementation Material handling design & implementation into assembly line
  • Draw Value stream mapping Current & Future map to identify bottleneck process
  • De-bottleneck the process by launching kaizen workshop along with manufacturing team.
  • Preparation of problem bank and arrive the action plan to improve the process.
  • Implement the productivity improvement and prepare the Kaizen sheet to capture the benefits.
  • To improve ergonomics & safety of the operator.
  • Eliminating redundant / obsolete processes involved in the design, development processes and working towards value-addition.
  • Collaborate with Production team on day-to-day basis to assess & improve the existing processes.
  • Preparation of assembly cell layout and plant layout & To optimize space of the plant by doing re-layout
  • Digitalization implementation
  • Budgetary Control for Capital Investment for project and existing products.
  • Preparing of Return on Investment (ROI) for each capital investments to make justification to Top Management.
  • Preparation of make or buy for new projects and existing products.
  • Preparation of MBOM for new projects and existing products.
  • Preparation of PFMEA and control plan for new products
  • Supporting to supplier capacity increase and improvements activity (VSM, Kaizen, Tooling)
  • As a project core team member (CTM), you will work seamlessly with other CTM's from various functions assigned to the project under the leadership of your project manager.
  • You will discharge your duties in a very efficient manner such that all the Project milestones are achieved, Contract Margin is respected and the QCD parameters are met, if not exceeded.
  • You must demonstrate agility such that the Projects are executed in a manner that will ensure repeat orders from the same Customer
  • The Process owner has the authority to instruct and make decisions independent from production.
  • The area of responsibility includes:
    • Requirement review and feasibility confirmation during tender phases.
    • Design review (when applicable).
    • Material specification.
    • Participation to:
      • Participation to equipment and tools definition.
      • Participation to process and product audits.
      • Participation to Quality Records definition.
      • Participation to Surveillance Plan & Control Plan definition.
      • QRQC Step 2 Process, and in particular to the Standardization committee.
  • Trouble shooting, analysis & Improvements through Six Sigma methodology
  • The Special Process Owner supports production transfer when special processes are impacted.
  • Special process Owner of Rivetting
  • The Special Process Owner can support other production sites with his expertise
  • The Special Process Owner should train the operator yearly and evaluate the operator on the skill for the special process
  • The special process Owner should validate they process as per validation procedure
  • Validation of:
    • The Wabtec site local guidelines, specifications, procedures and work instructions.
    • Equipment and tools (including Testing Equipment).
    • Qualification of the personnel involved in the special process.
    • Qualification of the special process.
  • Evaluation (risk assessment) of PCR/ECR involving the special process.
  • Evaluation (risk assessment) of concessions involving the special process.
