The role is in the Fusion Electronics Organisation within the Product Design and Manufacturing Solutions division. This team defines and builds the ECAD solution within the Fusion family of products. We are looking for a passionate Principal engineer to join our Pune-based scrum team to help us fulfil the mission of the organization which is to deliver best ECAD/MCAD integration experience in the industry. You will use your software programming skills to implement the next generation features and functionalities of our product, and have the opportunity to work with a world-class software engineering team.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the team's vision and articulate strategies to have fundamental impact at our massive scale.
You will need a product-focused mindset. It is essential for you to understand requirements and architect systems to scale and extend to accommodate those needs
Diagnose complex problems in distributed systems, develop and document technical solutions and sequence work to make fast, iterative deliveries and improvements
Build and maintain high-performance, fault-tolerant and scalable framework that is performant and can handle our massive scale
Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency)
Establish and uphold best engineering practices through thorough code and design reviews and improved processes
Groom junior engineers through mentoring and delegation
Help team to remove obstacles, guide solutions for challenges, predict risks and figure out mitigation plan
Promote a culture of trust, respect and inclusion within your team
Design & defining the interaction between the different components
Fast prototyping of features and get feedback.
Develop new features in C++, Python and QT.
Have knowledge of software architecture tools and techniques to achieve the right business outcome
Work with an extended team of software developers, QAs and product designers and other worldwide engineering sites
Learn, Proactive and must expand the technical breadth and depth, and develop T-shaped skills
Be flexible, proactive and respond quickly to multiple priorities under changing conditions and Agile process environment
Working within large software systems
Minimum Qualifications
Education: B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or related field
10 to 15 yrs of software development experience with C++ and Python
Familiarity and/or experience with computer aided design (CAD) tools
Familiarity and/or experience with electronics design: schematics, pcb layout, library part creation
Demonstrable working knowledge of desktop application software development
Knowledge of User-Interface (UI) programming methodologies, tools, and techniques
Experience with Source code control systems such as GIT, github, or other
Knowledge of Task management systems such as JIRA, other
Knowledge of Agile software development practices such as SCRUM
Experience with Standard C++ Libraries and commonly used containers and algorithms
Working experience with modern IDEs such as XCODE, Visual Studio, CLION or similar
Modern C++ (14, 17, 20 +) specification, architecture frameworks, techniques and patterns
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate has some practical experience programming in C++ and Python, having worked on several projects of some complexity with related and demonstrable skills, and with some real responsibility delivering working software
In addition, this candidate should have great interest and some experience in creating software tools
Solid understanding of common design patterns, algorithms, build systems, and modern source control systems are also desired
Willing to take challenges and stretch comfortable zone to grow.
The ideal candidate thrives in a structured, agile, and collaborative team environment, and can take on tasks of a wide range of focus as needed
