Principal IT Project Lead

A Day in the LifeAs a Principal IT Project Lead, you take full responsibility for the definition, documentation, and successful completion of complex PPPs, typically with significant business or high-profile impact, and high-risk dependencies. You can apply different project management methods and tools, selecting appropriately from plan-driven/predictive approaches or more adaptive (iterative and agile) approaches. You ensure that effective project control, change control, risk management, and testing processes are maintained. You monitor and control resources, oversee the actual costs and forecast against the project budget, and manage the expectations of all project stakeholders. In this role, you have defined authority within your programs/projects, and accountability for actions and decisions within a significant area of work, including technical, financial, and quality aspects. You establish strong influential relationships with your project team, which indirectly reports in to you for the duration of the project, to successfully deliver on all key project milestones. You understand and communicate project management best practices and the role and impact of technology within the organization. You take the initiative to keep your skills up to date to be an effective contributor.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

• Ensure timely delivery & quality of overall reporting and PPP deliverables.
• Responsible for monitoring and reporting on portfolio/project budget and resources.
• Challenge the project team members with respect to PPP deliverables timeliness, quality, accuracy, and integrity for the assigned programs/projects.
• Prepare financial reporting and analysis (programs and projects; portfolio areas as requested).
• Attend meetings and make minutes of meetings as required.
• Provide timely escalation of issues to all relevant stakeholders (programs and projects; portfolio areas as requested).
• Deliver project management for different types of projects such as Global Manufacturing, Operations Innovation, Supply Management, AI space, etc.
• Ensure proper Go-Live planning and Release management support activities are completed.

PPP Services

• Help ensure accurate program/project information for PPP dashboard reporting & metrics.
• Responsible for effectively managing the constraints of project management: Scope, Cost, Schedule.
• Provide oversight during the program/project financial forecasting (budget) process and proactively assist regular financial management on projects (e.g. Creation of POs, vendor invoicing, monthly labor charges and verification of SAP actuals).
• Structure regular reviews and Stage Gate meetings for projects.
• Provide risks and issues management, including proper identification, communication, and escalations.
• Ensure proper documentation of all relevant PPP documents, decisions, and changes.

Improvements & Innovation

• Provide  input into PPP Process (portfolio and project), Governance, and Documentation improvements.
• Drive the roll-out and embedding of PPP management methods.
• Keep current on advances and best practices in project management methodologies.
• Participate in initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the project management processes.

Required knowledge and skills:

• Baccalaureate degree (or Master’s degree).
• 7+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Highly fluent in English speaking & writing.
• Experience working in a highly regulated environment (e.g., FDA, EMA).
• Experience working in IT or Engineering leading application development projects.
• 3+ years of experience collaborating with global stakeholders and business partners.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Financial acumen in managing complex program/project budgets.
• Experience using Project management systems (e.g., PlanView/PlanisWare/PPM) and various project methodologies like Waterfall, Hybrid, Agile/Scrum.
• Able to perform highly complex work activities covering technical, financial, and quality.
