JOB TITLE: Principal Engineer – Quality (Mechanical)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- List procurement inspection criticality rating for various items and vendor quality requirements.
- Review of purchase orders to ensure that the applicable requirements are met.
- Review of suppler ITPs, WPS, Procedures etc against project requirements.
- Support to review and provide your input on the Fabrication yard ITPs/ITRs .
- Attendance at Pre-inspection meeting as per project requirement.
- Verification of vendor inspection assignments packages before transmitting to Inspection agencies.
- Conduct supplier capability assessment, as assigned.
- Complete and submit Supplier Capability Assessment reports in 10 working days for approval.
- Moderate/review supplier post order evaluation report/matrix.
- Quality Incident (QIs) raised during surveillance visit in a month and closure status.
- Coordination and resolution of any nonconforming product
- Reviewing vendors QA/QC systems in accordance with project requirements.
- Coordination of vendor quality approvals when required.
- Coordinate with discipline engineers and Supplier engineers on establishing project specific quality criteria.
- Ensure the verification of documentation and certificates for materials purchased by suppliers.
- Review supplier inspection procedures and personnel qualifications.
- Review supplier material certificates.
- Take part in shop inspections and surveillances.
- Coordinate with the Client discipline engineers for the resolution of technical discrepancies.
- Coordinate with management for quality improvements.
- Issue of non-conformance reports and track all non-conformance reports.
- Coordinate with the Project Delivery team on all procurement issues.
- Verify product for its compliance to approved data sheets drawings, witness testing as approved by ITP.
- Produce necessary inspection report and release notes.
- Monitor progress of all purchase requisitions.
- Assure resolution of all issues raised during inspection/test. Where applicable, Provide
- recommendations for possible solutions.
- Coordinate with concerned parties, review and ensure timely delivery of MRBs based on approved MRB index.
- Provide technical inputs for vendor queries, technical queries/deviation requests, conformance reports and non-conformance reports.
- Integrate with and work alongside the quality team and perform all related tasks as and when requested by the supervisor.
- Provide key technical assistance to supplier on writing and executing test approvals and final reports
- Provide necessary support, as and when requested by Supervisor
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION & SKILLS:
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CSWIP 3.1/3.2/AWS CWI/SCWI). Painting Inspector (NACE Level II/III/BGAS Grade 2/1) or equivalent.
- ASNT/PCN/ ISO 9712 Level II in VT, RT, PT, MT & UT & ISO 9001-2015 certification.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in Procurement Quality with major EPC Contractor.
- 10+ years of experience Mechanical Static, Rotating Package such as Material handling, Lifting Equipment, Safety Equipment (IG and CAF), Tanks, Pumps, HVA/C packages for HVAC or HVDC Offshore Substation or Offshore Oil & Gas.
- Experienced with EN ISO and DNV Code and standards.
- Must have a thorough working knowledge of International Codes and Standards.
- English: Good communication skills, both spoken and written.
