Our NielsenIQ Technology teams are working on our new Connect platform, a unified, global, open data ecosystem powered by a combination of cloud-based and on-prem technologies. Our clients around the world rely on NielsenIQ’s data and insights to innovate and grow. As a Principal Architect in the architecture group, you will help define the architecture designs for platform components of the NIQ platforms that are strategically aligned to business strategy and objectives. The Principal Architect will partner with their architect peers along with the Product and Operations leaders as well as the Tech Lead in the development teams to take the architecture designs from the initial requirement definition all the way to delivery. This role will grow into an end-to-end platform architect as the candidate gains more knowledge of NIQ’s platform.
Responsibilities:
Be a main contributor on deriving architecture designs for key products on the NIQ platforms, heavily engaging with both product stakeholders and application development team
Produce high level approaches for platform components as needed to help component architects use as a blueprint for their low-level designs. Many of these approaches will require an E2E understanding of the platform to ensure that they seamlessly fit in with future products and technology vision kept in focus.
Create, maintain and promote reference architectures for the key areas of the platform. Architecture guidelines and standards to be documented and communicated to technology and product teams.
Help assess new technologies that could be viable alternatives to existing platform selections to support front end applications, platform services and components along with the data pipelines and databases.
Help identify future solutions and drive innovations through PoCs, technology migrations, and productionization
Responsible for innovating, evaluating, and promoting best architectural solutions for the NIQ platform.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s in computer science or similar required
Good knowledge of Enterprise-scale RDBMS data modelling and processing on multi-TB databases is a requirement
8+ years’ experience in application development involved or responsible for Architecture / Solution design, including a strong engineering background
8+ years’ experience Languages used extensively on the platform are PL/SQL, Python, C++ with datastores being Oracle RAC, Postgres, MongoDB, Elasticsearch.
Advanced knowledge of data structures, algorithms and designing for performance, scalability and availability
Good knowledge of Cloud technologies (Azure)
Hands-on experience in building scalable enterprise platforms
