Hitachi Energy PQS uses a state of art modelling and other in-house engineering tools for Electromechanical design. The PQS Electromechanical Design (EM) team is responsible for the design of the PQS plant and the preparation of installation drawings & documents by developing a 3D Model in Revit. Your roles and responsibilities: Static Var Compensator / Series Compensation Plant design & modelling in 3D Environment Preparation of FACTS plant layouts (Yard Arrangement – Layout & Plan, Electrical HV / EHV Clearance Check) Preparation of civil conceptual design & interface drawings (Foundation plans, trench, and other civil requirements, foundation load calculations) Preparation of control building layout (electrical cubicles, thyristors, pump skid arrangement) Preparation of cable trench & conduit layout Preparation of grounding & lightning protection calculations and layouts Preparation of Installation drawings / Erection Key Diagrams Steel design calculations (Member size & foundation bolt selection) Preparation of detailed steel drawings (for manufacturing / procurement & installation) Heat & ventilation system data preparation (Input to HVAC design) As Built Drawings Purchasing of connectors, conductors, etc., Review of equipment drawings (Reactor, Capacitor, SA, LA, CT, PT, CB, Isolator, WB / Insulator, Cubicle, Cooling Skid etc.,) Review of Tender / Bidding Specification Living Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business Your background: Education: BE in Electrical Engineering 5 - 8 Years (Min 4 years in Air-insulated substations (OR) FACTS, Flexible AC Transmission System (OR) HVDC Design Experience). Strong experience in sub-station design / facts or hvdc plant design. (mainly primary design - layout engineering & co-ordination with other design departments) Preparation / review / approval of layout engineering deliverables (primary design deliverables of layout (plan & section), electrical clearance diagrams, magnetic field clearances, erection key diagrams, cable trench & conduit layout, grounding & lightning protection, civil task (civil input) drawings, typical installation documents) Preparation / review / approval of design calculations (busbar (flexible & tube) sizing, short circuit force, cantilever strength, insulation co-ordination / bil, sag-tension, spacer / critical span, grounding, lightning protection, static & dynamic load input to civil design) Preparation / review / approval of technical specification, technical data sheets, vendor drawings / data sheets. Vendor evaluation (technical) for switchyard components and procurement engineering. Revit (OR) any other 3D plant design tools (Solidworks/Smart Plant / PDS / PDMS - AutoCAD, Micro Station) or Assembly Design Tools (NX, ADI) Strong Knowledge / expertise in concept of Sketch, Model, drawings Individual contributor using in-depth knowledge in a specific area to execute complex or specialized projects / challenges often thinking independently to challenge traditional solutions Comprehensive knowledge of related disciplines in the organization Works independently, applying established standards Excellent English speaker, good communication skills Dynamic and Proactive, willing to grow in the organization Team player, ready to play the role across the different countries High level of ownership Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
