Portfolio Development Executive – Design center Solid EdgePosition Summary:
As part of the Software Sales team, drive the development of the Design-centre Solid Edge portfolio by identifying target markets, implementing go-to-market strategies, and executing key campaigns to improve software opportunities. Act as a trusted advisor to Sales and Presales teams, providing mentorship on planning, execution, and measurement of portfolio development activities.
Define and implement a country-specific portfolio plan, aligning focus areas with Sales Management, identifying challenges, and taking action to overcome them. Serve as the primary point of contact for Sales and Partner teams, sharing solution campaign knowledge and providing portfolio domain expertise.
Work with a degree of autonomy, receiving some supervision on assignments and resolving methods and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Define business needs and build compelling value propositions.
- Develop strategic plans and roadmaps, engaging with Senior Executives, including the C-Suite.
- Lead and implement multiple campaigns in collaboration with Industry, Marketing, and Sales.
- Communicate the Digitalization campaign message, aligning Siemens technology with customer needs and vision.
- Lead execution plans and report progress, supporting the closing process as needed.
Minimum Requirements:- 5+ years of validated experience in sales, business development, technical, or presales roles, with a strong grasp of mechanical design CAD technology/solutions.
- Experience in the design engineering CAD domain is significant.
- Proven record to be a trusted advisor at various interpersonal levels, from technical users to senior management.
- Collaborate optimally with cross-functional teams both internally and externally.
Key Functions:- Suspect Opportunity Identification and Development: Identify high-potential prospects within the Solid Edge solution domain across priority industries. Collaborate with sales teams to resolve the best sales channels and align strategies. Implement digital thread campaigns and engage customer contacts, documenting activities and challenges in SFDC. Cultivate top suspect opportunities, transitioning them to the sales team once matured.
- Opportunity Expansion Support: Represent and present at industry events within the country or vertical. Support the development of expansion opportunities aligned with the Digital Thread vision for customers.
- Reporting & Tracking: Attend and support regular reviews with PFDs, sales management, and country leadership to supervise top suspect opportunities and discuss adjustments. Actively participate in PFD and Sales meetings as required.
- Enablement and Mentoring: Serve as the primary contact for portfolio validated experience, driving sales team education and awareness through campaigns. Present at internal sales events, external customer events, and conferences.
- Partner Teamwork: Work with channel management to review the partner landscape and drive campaign enablement with indirect channel partners. Mentor and coach partners, focusing on converting suspect opportunities to sales pipeline.

- Willing to travel to customer sites and other locations as needed (approximately 60% travel).
- Ensure compliance with Siemens’ health, safety, and quality standards.
- Handle business processes and administrative tasks, including timely expense reporting.
Skills & Proficiencies:- Strong leadership, interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Expertise in business development, consulting, and opportunity identification.
- Proficient in MS Office, Salesforce (SFDC), and other CRM systems.
- Ability to think critically and creatively, solving problems and driving innovation.
- Experience in working with change and adapting to new business dynamics.
Scope:- Focus on 80% new business generation and 20% business expansion.
- Establish links with Account Orchestrators and senior-level customers.
- Work across multiple industry domains.
Education & Experience:- University degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Shown experience in MCAD sales and SaaS sales.
- Minimum 5 years of validated experience in mechanical design CAD software sales.
Working Conditions:- Office or home-based with frequent travel to customer sites (approximately 60% travel).
- Must be available to work during core hours required by the business.
