General Summary:
A Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) working with tools and embedded drivers has a unique set of roles and responsibilities:
· Developing Software Applications: They work with the software development team to develop applications, including tools and embedded driversfor Multimedia technology.
· Test Automation: SDETs are responsible for performing test automation and setting up frameworks or enhance existing framework to validate different Multimediafeatures.
· Creating & Managing Bug Reports: They create and manage bug reports and communicate with the team.
· Building Test Scenarios and Acceptance Tests: SDETs build different test scenarios and acceptance tests.
· Understanding Code and Processes: They assess and understand the flow of code and its interaction with various processes.
· Documenting Processes: They document processes and demands for process improvement.
· Manual Regression Testing: SDETs perform manual regression testing.
· Troubleshooting: They troubleshoot bugs and other issues on Windows desktop for Multimedia.
Minimum Qualifications:
These responsibilities require a unique set of skills, including design skills, programming skills, understanding of various test methodologies, and exposure to Multimedia technology i.e Video, Camera, Display, Graphics, Audio. They also need to have a good understanding of Quality Assurance methodologies, life cycle, and processes.
As for the programming languages, SDETs are expected to have good programming skills in any language like Python, C, C#, etc. Knowledge of databases like MySQL, etc., is also beneficial. For instance.
