Experience Required: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (BE) with a minimum of 8 years of experience in the design stream.
Job Responsibilities:
Create and review piping designs using AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and Navisworks.
Model piping and equipment in a 3D environment, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
Generate Piping Isometrics, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, and layouts.
Develop and manage Piping Bill of Materials (BOM) and Material Take-Off (MTO) documents.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of piping designs.
Navigate and review 3D models in Navisworks, ensuring design integrity and clash-free layouts.
Understand and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), particularly for boilers and power plants.
Check and verify design outputs for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project standards.
Ensure all deliverables are prepared and submitted on time, maintaining high standards of quality.
Communicate effectively with clients, understanding their requirements and addressing concerns.
Participate in client meetings, providing insights and solutions related to piping design.
Lead and mentor a team of junior engineers and designers.
Allocate tasks and manage the team’s workflow to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
RequirementsEssential Qualifications and Skills:
Strong hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and Navisworks.
Proficiency in creating 3D models, Piping Isometrics, GA drawings, and Piping Layouts.
In-depth knowledge of Piping BOM, MTO, and Piping Material Specifications (PMS).
Familiarity with piping support systems and basic understanding of stress analysis.
Solid understanding of P&ID for boilers and power plants.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team interactions.
Strong leadership abilities to manage and guide a team towards successful project completion.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional certification in Piping Stress Analysis would be an advantage.
Prior experience in a similar role within the Boiler or Power Plant sectors is highly desirable.
