About the position:
The Pipeline Integrity Engineer is part of the Materials, Equipment, and Quality team within Chevron’s ENGINE Center and provides pipeline integrity engineering support to the Chevron enterprise, includes Chevrons upstream, downstream and midstream facilities and projects.This role provides pipeline integrity assessments, in-line inspection (ILI) analysis, fit for purpose reports and pipeline defect assessments using Chevron and industry methods for the purpose of ensuring the reliability and integrity of Chevron pipelines.
Key responsibilities:
Reviews and validates integrity assessments – hydrotest, in-line inspection (ILI) & “other pipeline integrity technologies”
Performs ILI data evaluations, reviews anomaly validations, evaluates pipeline defects, and recommends next inspection interval.
Develops pipeline integrity and inspection plans
Determines pipeline corrosion growth estimates & response time for defect repairs or line replacement
Conducts pipeline threat/damage assessment and defines inspection requirements
Conducts leak detection capability evaluations (LDCEs)
Develops pipeline pigging project execution plans and leak detection capability evaluations (LDCEs).
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline (Mechanical, Civil, Metallurgical, or Chemical) from a recognized (AICTE) university
Strong analytical skills in analyzing pipeline inline inspection (ILI) data.
Proven experience in applying pipeline industry codes and standards: ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, ASME B16.5, API 1160, ASME B31.8S, API 1163, API 1149, API 1130, API 1175 and DNV GL.
Proficiency in computer application applicable to specific work including Excel and Word.
Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years of proven experience in pipeline integrity management, pipeline inspection technology (in-line inspection and non-intrusive inspection technology), pipeline corrosion management, pipeline repair decisions, pipeline threat identification, risk assessment and pipeline regulations.
Strong understanding of pipeline operations, maintenance, process safety and risk assessments
Experience in facilities supporting pipeline integrity programs
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1:30pm to 10:30pm.
