Ping DevOps Engineer (IAM, Python, Cloud)

We are seeking a skilled Ping DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in DevOps engineering, specifically working with Ping Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). A solid background in scripting for automation and familiarity with cloud technologies is essential for success in this role.

Software Requirements:

Identity and Access Management (IAM): Strong experience with application onboarding and integration, specifically withPing Single Sign-On (SSO)andMulti-Factor Authentication (MFA).

Scripting Languages: Proficiency in scripting languages, includingPython, Bash, and PowerShellfor automation and configuration.

Overall Responsibilities:

• Needs Assessment:Identify business needs and challenges to develop feasible IAM solutions tailored to the organization.

  
  

• IAM Solutions Architecture:Provide expert guidance on IAM controls and design effective solutions that align with both business and technical requirements.

  
  

• Design & Development:Create high-quality IAM solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring usability and performance.

  
  

• Code and Scripting:Write code and configuration scripts, as well as automated tests, to implement functionalities efficiently.

  
  

• Peer Review & Quality Assurance:Conduct peer reviews of designs and code from other IAM engineers to ensure adherence to best practices and quality standards.

  
  

• Issue Analysis:Analyze and identify fixes for defects and environmental, configuration, and deployment issues throughout development to production phases.

  
  

• Release Management:Follow established processes for compiling and distributing software builds across development, testing, and production environments.

  
  

• Technical Debt Management:Recognize and resolve technical debt, such as overly complex or poorly organized code and processes.

  
  

• Documentation:Prepare and update comprehensive documentation, including system manuals, deployment and configuration instructions, test scripts, and user guides.

  
  

• Integration & Collaboration:Ensure smooth integration of IAM solutions with those offered by other teams, promoting effective collaboration and communication with team members and stakeholders.

Core IAM Skills:

• Experience withPing SSOandMFA.
• Strong understanding of IAM controls and architecture.

Scripting & Automation: Proficient inPython, Bash, PowerShellfor process automation.

Cloud Technologies: Familiarity withAWSservices and best practices.

Experience: 5-7 years of experience inDevOps engineering, with a proven focus on Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions.Day-to-Day Activities:

• Engage in code development and testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess needs and deliver IAM solutions.
• Participate in daily stand-ups and ad-hoc meetings to resolve issues.
• Continually review and optimize deployment processes.
• Maintain and update project documentation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree inComputer Science,Information Technology, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such asAWS CertifiedandPing Certification(Ping Federate) are highly desirable.
