Your Role and Responsibilities
Execute benchmarks to identify hotspots/bottlenecks in the z/VM implementation
Evaluate the performance across the IBM zSystems and IBM LinuxONE servers
Suggest and implement platform specific changes/improvements using prototypes as Proofpoint
Contribute to performance study by executing benchmarks and collecting various performance measurements and metrics
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to share/borrow best practices in the performance arena
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Working knowledge of Operating System Linux/Unix
Thorough understanding of hardware & systems architecture
Strong understanding of Virtualization (working experience either with z/VM, PowerVM, KVM, Xen, VMware, etc.)
Hands-on experience in Systems software & Performance testing
Knowledge of whole-stack performance analysis and problem determination, quick prototyping and iterative experimentation
Strong team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to work effectively in a global team environment
Proven command over the English language, both written and verbal
