- Diagnosis and Evaluation: Conduct thorough medical evaluations, diagnostic tests, and consultations to accurately diagnose surgical conditions in pediatric patients
- Surgical Procedures: Perform a variety of surgical procedures on infants, children, and adolescents, including but not limited to congenital anomalies, trauma cases, oncological surgeries, gastrointestinal surgeries, and thoracic surgeries
- Preoperative Care: Assess patients' medical history, conduct physical examinations, and order necessary tests to prepare patients for surgery
- Coordinate with anesthesiologists and other specialists to ensure patient safety during surgery
- Intraoperative Care: Lead and participate in surgical procedures, ensuring precise and safe surgical techniques
- Monitor patients' vital signs and make real-time decisions to optimize patient outcomes
- Postoperative Care: Oversee patients' recovery and postoperative management
- Prescribe and manage medications, monitor wound healing, and address any complications that may arise
- Patient Education: Communicate with patients and their families, providing information about the surgical procedure, expected outcomes, and postoperative care
- Address any concerns or questions to ensure patient and family understanding and compliance
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other medical professionals, including pediatricians, nurses, anesthesiologists, radiologists, and other specialists, to provide comprehensive and multidisciplinary care
- Research and Education: Stay up-to-date with advancements in pediatric surgical techniques, research, and best practices
- Contribute to medical research and education by publishing papers, giving presentations, and participating in academic activities
- Emergency Cases: Respond to emergency situations, such as traumatic injuries or acute conditions, and provide timely surgical interventions when needed
- Ethical and Professional Standards: Uphold high ethical and professional standards in patient care, confidentiality, and medical decision-making
