As a Payments Controller Associate in our Finance team, you will spend each day defining, refining and delivering set goals for our firm. The Payments Controller team is seeking highly motivated candidates to join their team based in Mumbai. You will be working closely with regional product controllers to carry out control functions and support product and business managers with client profitability analysis.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform monthly reconciliation of client profitability results with reported financials, including variance analysis, review of financial data, fluctuation analysis, preparation of financial reporting deliverables, and understanding of accruals processes, general ledger, and revenue substantiation.
- Drive change in the month-end process to improve transparency and efficiency in month-end results.
- Ensure financial information is accurately transitioned into client allocations via defined rules and allocation processes, document approval of allocation methodologies, and log exceptions where appropriate.
- Act as a resource for project management and the businesses for various projects and business initiatives related to client profitability.
- Identify and drive targeted reviews for specific products or processes based on both quantitative and qualitative factors.
- Communicate effectively with Business Managers, Product Managers, and Financial Controllers to deliver changes in the client reporting model.
- Understand and contribute to the end-to-end control framework of the business and the function.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Excellent communication skills and executive presence including the ability to present complex and sensitive matters to Senior management, Product Managers & Business Managers across levels.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, attention to detail and control focus
- Enthusiastic, highly motivated and effective under tight timeframes and pressure
- Strong interpersonal, communication and team-building skills
- Ability to work in a matrix organization with limited local oversight ensuring timely escalation & resolution of issues.
- Proven skills in identifying and resolving control issues that may impact financial results.
- Good knowledge of Treasury Services products and processes, including blockchain, cash management, payment clearing processing and liquidity management
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills (including but not limited to VBA\SQL\Python) and good knowledge of SAP system.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Qualified accountant preferably with 4-6 years & above experience within the Financial Services industry or Product Controller experience an advantage.
- Proficiency in digital solutions, particularly Alteryx and Tableau, is preferred
