Why are we building Nuclei?


Nuclei is a global product company working with 18+ leading banks/BFSI institutions across Asia.


Before we started Nuclei, we listed down a few guiding principles. These were essentially the learnings from our previous startups/companies:


  • Think big, think global, and not limit ourselves only to India.
  • Build a company, not a startup. We wanted to be sustainable from day 1 and build a profitable business.
  • Build for the long term, not flip it in a few years.
  • Leverage existing distribution, instead of spending $s in getting app downloads. And most importantly, we wanted to change the perception about India, from being a back-office / outsourcing destination, to a product destination.
  • All the above points came together to form Nuclei's vision - "To build a well-respected global product company out of India."

Why are we targeting the BFSI sector?


Obviously, we see a big opportunity in the BFSI sector and it aligns with all of our guiding principles. The banking industry is pretty uniform globally and our products can be easily scaled up across multiple banks and geographies. Working with banks has helped us run a profitable company from day 1 and we intend to remain profitable throughout.


Coming to the problem - Today, banks are not just competing with other banks, but mainly with various consumer tech companies. And if they intend to remain relevant over the next 10yrs, they need to build a deeper relationship with their customers.


At Nuclei, we are building a platform that enables the banks to increase customer engagement and build a deeper relationship. We help them go to market with multiple third-party products quickly while providing a seamless customer experience.


What will you do?


Your role will involve 3 responsibilities.


  • Creating innovative solutions for different customer segments
  • Revenue Management
  • Growth

Why this Matters!


Before we dive into responsibilities, here is why it matters. Think of Nuclei as a Marketplace. On one side we have customers (brought to our platform by banks) and on the other side we have partners who would fulfill their requirements


Eg 1: The Nuclei platform enables recurring discounts on AWS for businesses. The partner manages fulfillment. Nuclei’s role here is to get deep into the partner ecosystem, understand the levers, and build a differentiated value proposition that is better than 80% of competitors'. 


 Better the value propositions, more the transactions, and thus higher the revenue.


Thus Partnership Role goes hand in hand with Revenue Growth and Revenue Management. 


Tasks include:


Building new value propositions with the help of partner


  • Research use cases we aim to support on the Nuclei platform—whether B2C (e.g., flight bookings) or B2B (e.g., AWS discounts).
  • Identify, reach out to, and onboard partners that align with our objectives.
  • Create unique value propositions through these partnerships to make our offerings stand out. For example, by including free seat selection for B2C customers, we can draw users who prefer us over other OTAs. Developing differentiated propositions requires strong analytical skills to pinpoint and leverage competitive advantages.
  • Strong value proposition = More Revenue
  • You will need to find partners and build propositions across geographies like Europe, MEA, and India
  • Understand the business model of partners and figure out a niche for us to operate in

Revenue Management


  • Manage these partners, track their progress, and resolve issues if any
  • Keep improving margins with scale, thus directly impacting the bottom line
  • Productize manual processes with the help of product and build automation

Growth / GTM


  • At Nuclei, we provide end-to-end exposure across roles, allowing you to gain a holistic business perspective.
  • Collaborate directly with banks to design and implement top-of-the-funnel strategies 
  • Engage with customers to gain insights into their behavior and needs, then use these insights to refine value propositions with our partners. 
  • Closely work with our sales and marketing functions to drive revenue growth

What to Expect?


Bandwidth allocated across these 3 functions would vary from time to time. But over some time, you should be able to understand how businesses are run


Note that bringing onboard partners doesn’t build a business. One needs to be creative and build a value proposition which is differentiated. This is key! Nuclei is built on differentiated value propositions delivered by partners. Given the importance of the role, we will be selective :)


Who should apply?


  • Aptitude for business development and curiosity to ask questions
  • Strong analytical skills :) We mean it. 
  • 2-5 years of experience
  • Prior experience of working in external facing roles. 
  • Experience with SaaS companies / cloud providers, SIs would be a plus
