Role: P5 Senior Key Account Manager - Strategic Partnerships

About the Role:
This is a great opportunity for experienced sales professional to join a young & successful team in a dynamic and fast paced growth environment. This person should employ the consultative selling approach to first understand the merchant needs and then pitch the appropriate products to the merchants from the PayU suite of offerings
The startups team at PayU is working with a vision to help each startup start easily and grow fast. We are building a set of products and services to help each startup in India and to capture 50% of the startups market share within 2 years. This can only happen if we are present wherever startups start from.

What you’ll be doing:


  • Building your own P&L from partnerships with Venture Capital and private equity firms, Big-tech companies such as Amazon and Microsoft, governments, incubators and co-working spaces 
  • Planning GTM strategy with each partner to engage with all companies that originate from that partner
  • Owning significant portfolio penetration with each partner
  • Gather feedback from partners to help build better products and GTM plans at PayU
  • The Sales manager is responsible for growing business & revenue by hunting new opportunities (merchants), cross/ Up-selling & retaining the portfolio to grow the portfolio.
  •  The Account manager should have the ability to manage relationships (both internal and external), solve any issues at various level, sustain and improve the relationships.
  • The Account manager should have the willingness to learn new products, align to the functioning of the cross functional teams and should be good in selling solutions using the services / products of PayU.
  • The base work location will be in Mumbai.

What are we looking for?


  • Overall 8-9 experience in B2B sales in any industry. 2-3 years of experience in payments would be added advantage
  • Has about 3+ years’ experience in managing partners, and handling negotiations
  • Someone who has experience in cracking and scaling strategic partnerships.
  • Good understanding of the Startups, VC, and banking ecosystem
  • Who can plan for medium to long-term engagements with a partner and influence GTM
  • Ensure P&L impact with each partner
  • With a deep understanding of customer flows   
  • Passionate about supporting start-ups, Deep experience and knowledge within the start-up, VC or Accelerator / Incubator community
  • Experience with account management, relationship management, business development and solution selling
  • Strong project management skills and experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication Skills
