What success looks like in this role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Support Manager to join our product team. This role is designed for someone with substantial experience in managing large-scale enterprise platforms, including mainframe, Java, and React applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, with expertise in release management and DevOps pipelines, and the ability to lead a team of engineers. You’ll be responsible for overseeing the release management process, ensuring timely and efficient execution of monthly releases, and providing support for the platforms. This role will be focused on technical responsibilities and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Release Management:
Oversee and manage monthly release cycles for large-scale enterprise platforms. Coordinate planning, execution, and post-release activities, ensuring releases are timely and free of defects. Collaborate with the engineering teams to guarantee smooth and efficient deployment processes.
Platform Support:
Provide operational support for enterprise platforms, including mainframe, Java, and React. Monitor platform performance, ensure system reliability, and address any issues that may arise. Proactively work to identify and resolve bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
DevOps & Pipelines:
Demonstrate hands-on experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and release automation. Work with the technical teams to streamline and optimize the deployment processes using tools and best practices to ensure quality and speed.
Technical Leadership:
Provide deep technical support and guidance to the team, ensuring efficient troubleshooting and resolution of complex issues. Stay up to date on best practices and emerging technologies to improve the support infrastructure.
Team Leadership (30% of Role):
Lead and mentor a small team of engineers, providing support and guidance in their daily work. Foster a collaborative team environment that emphasizes growth and development. Conduct regular performance reviews, team meetings, and one-on-ones to ensure clear communication and progress.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify areas for process improvements within release management, operations, and platform performance. Lead initiatives to optimize operational workflows and improve system reliability and scalability.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with development teams, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure operational requirements align with business goals. Manage cross-team communication to ensure smooth release cycles and quick resolution of issues.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for all releases, processes, and troubleshooting efforts. Prepare regular reports on operational activities, performance metrics, and release health for upper management.
Key Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in operations support, with a minimum exp in a leadership or team management role.
Extensive experience supporting mainframe, Java, and React platforms in large-scale enterprise environments.
Strong release management experience, specifically with executing and managing monthly releases.
Proven working knowledge of DevOps practices and experience with CI/CD pipelines.
Hands-on technical experience in managing and troubleshooting complex systems and platforms.
Technical expertise: The role will primarily focus on technical responsibilities.
Team management: Leadership experience is essential, including mentoring and guiding a small team.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to manage technical discussions while also effectively communicating with non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work under pressure and handle complex, time-sensitive issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
Knowledge of incident, problem, and change management practices (e.g., ITIL).

BA/BS degree and 6 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
