Amazon Data Services India Private Limited (ADSIPL) is looking for an experienced and motivated Network Deployment Project Lead to join our fun and growing team within AWS Data Centres to build the Cloud Network.
You will be an ideal candidate if you are autonomous, detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills and experienced in supporting enterprise class networks. You as a Network Project Lead will have experience in project planning, designing, installation and troubleshooting of networking hardware with a proven background in successful project delivery coupled with Data Centre working experience.
This role will provide you with high levels of autonomy to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and to assist in the delivery of new AWS region deployments.
As a Network Project Lead you will be working with established best practices to refine operational procedures, resolve ambiguous challenges for big volumes of delivery and constantly thinking proactively to innovate. Your desire and ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment will be the key to success in this role.
In addition, when working onsite in the data centres, the role will require up to 50% travels to site during certain periods. #dcpd
Key job responsibilities
-Create network rack splits and Position Plans for placement of network racks on a Data Centre Floor.
-HLD reviews.
-Accurate Inventory planning, optimising and doing the PR/PO process.
-Manage vendors and suppliers conversations and for prompt delivery to ensure a project is never delayed due to materials.
-Detailed independent planning for landing of network racks, power, position and do network rack configurations.
-Drive, Improvise and implement structured cabling in new builds based on prior lessons learnt and latest AWS standards.
-Be onsite at the project location (local or travel to site) to configure, test network switches, routers on multiple racks and troubleshoot fibre networks work with onsite vendors, remote Network and Systems engineers and hand off the network in stipulated amount of predefined time.
-Ability to do the above for multiple projects concurrently.
-Shadow and project on-the-job training to junior colleagues.
-Be an onboarding buddy and help with or take up Continuous Improvement initiatives
A day in the life
1. Planning 6 to 8 months in advance, the networking infrastructure required to cater for AWS DC expansion targets of the business.
2. Understand the latest trends and best practices followed at a regional level and implement in local builds.
3. Configure and deploy Data Centre Network of new sites.
4. Build strong relationships to collaborate and unblock project challenges beyond the scope of Network Infra Delivery only

Our team builds the cloud data centre network (new regions and expansion DCs).
Our responsibilities are varied and involve project work managing new network deployments regions.
As a Network Deployment Project Lead you will be closely working with the ADSIPL team, and with our internal customers, vendors and other regional colleagues.
1. At least 6 to 9 years of work experience doing Network, Infrastructure or Data Centre projects.
2. Ability to deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes with a thinking big mindset, with an eye on improvement
Working closely with our various teams across the organisation to ensure fast, smooth rollout of new designs and products.
3. Excellent analytical skills with an ability to prioritise tasks based on variable project requirements.
4. Ability to work collaboratively with various stake holders to remove project obstacles if any. Call out risks as threats and/or opportunities early enough.
5. Broad understanding and knowledge of infrastructure technologies including cabling infrastructure, fibre optics, structured cabling and various testing equipment such as VFL, power meter, and OTDR.
6.Experience working with cabling infrastructure including troubleshooting, best practices and methodologies
7.Experience in network troubleshooting including routing and inter connectivity issues, device configuration
8. Ability to travel within geographical work area across APJC countries and within India is required, with appropriate passport and visa conditions being met.
AS/BS in Information Systems, Computer Science or Information Assurance, may be coupled with certifications to include CCNA, CCNP or JNCIA;
2. 6+ years of mid-level and/or enterprise experience as a technician or engineer in a highly dynamic environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
3.Experience (preferred) in understanding and defining the Power and Cooling requirements for various different types of equipment
4. Experience working with a medium to large, complex project scopes within work environment.
5. Good understanding of major Network 6. Operating Systems from various vendors e.g. Cisco IOS, JunOS etc.
6. Good understanding of and common Networking Protocols e.g. BGP, OSPF etc.
7. Experienced working in enterprise grade virtualisation networking environments.
8. Working experience with IT best practice frameworks e.g. ITIL, LEAN, AGILE etc.
9. Experience with Continuous Improvements and/or scripting/coding skills.
