Role Overview:
The Mold Validation Engineer / Manager will be responsible for overseeing and validating mold designs, machining, processing and troubleshooting molds up to 30L capacity. The ideal candidate will ensure molds are designed efficiently for optimal performance in the blow molding process and will implement necessary design changes as required. This role involves close collaboration with vendors, internal teams, and use of relevant design and simulation software.
Key Responsibilities:
➢ Oversee the complete mold design process, including machining, processing, and validation of molds up to 30L capacity.
➢ Validate molds to ensure alignment with blow molding process requirements.
➢ Troubleshoot mold-related issues and implement necessary design modifications.
➢ Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure high-quality mold development.
➢ Conduct inspections at vendor sites for mold design, machining, or process changes.
➢ Review and approve technical drawings, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
➢ Utilize software such as AutoCAD and other graphics / stimulation softwares for mold design and analysis.
➢ Ensure molds meet performance, quality, and safety standards.
➢ Provide technical support for mold trials and fine-tuning to achieve production targets.
➢ Optimize mold designs for manufacturing efficiency and long-term performance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
➢ Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or equivalent field.
➢ 10 to 12 years of experience in mold design, machining, validation, and troubleshooting.
➢ Strong knowledge of the Blow Molding Process and mold manufacturing.
➢ Proficiency in Design & Simulation Softwares.
➢ Hands-on experience in validating molds of up to 30L capacity.
➢ Ability to identify and resolve mold issues efficiently, with a focus on design changes.
➢ Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and attention to detail.
➢ Willingness to visit vendor sites for inspections, troubleshooting, and coordination.
➢ Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with internal and external teams.
