Siemens Limited India is looking for a skilled Model Based Design Engineer (w. PMI in NX-CAD) to join our Engineering Standards team. The candidate will collaborate with experts, maintain and develop best practices, configure NX-CAD to create MBD with PMI; Jointly decide if new functionality is mature and robust enough for deployment to NX-CAD community. This role offers a unique opportunity for personal growth and development, as well as the chance to make a significant impact on our organization's digital end-to-end value chain.


Your new role – challenging and future-oriented:


  • Support the user community consisting of creators and consumers of Model Based Definition in advisory role and collecting feedback & lessons learned to loop back into best practices
  • Especially for consumers of the Model Based Definition, act as business tool owner for standalone viewer software “JT2GO” to ensure availability, version compatibility and provide specific support to internal and external consumers of the Model Based Definition
  • Work with the internal IT departments to manage central installation and configuration of JT2Go viewer
  • Engage with our experts for standards involved in shaping DIN and ISO standards for Product Definition
  • Engage with Siemens DI regarding feature requests, tests of new versions, problem reports etc. regarding both native NX-CAD as well as viewer software.
  • Beyond the core subjects, engage in general CAD topics on the agenda of the Engineering Standards Team
  • Represent the Engineering Standards group regarding modeling and product definition towards a large community of CAD users, as well as internal Stakeholders such as Engineering management or interfacing organizations
  • Based on experience and knowledge in the areas of standards, product lifecycle management and your CAD expertise, contribute to our future PLM data architecture and processes as an active member of our digitalization initiative.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Design, or a related field
  • 3+ years of professional experience in a related field;
  • Experience/Knowledge of PMI including understanding of MBD foundations
  • General knowledge of Model based definition
  • General knowledge of PLM data management tools & methods
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Passion for innovation and continuous improvement
  • Desire to grow and develop both personally and professionally
  • Optional: Programming knowledge, esp. using Python or C# in conjunction with NXOpen
