At Smith+Nephew, we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living! The Medical Education Specialist at Smith & Nephew is responsible fordeveloping and executing high-impact medical education programs for healthcare professionals (HCPs) across Orthopedics, and Wound Care.
What will you be doing?
This role ensures that surgeons, nurses, and clinical teams receive high-quality training on Smith & Nephew’s innovative medical devices and surgical techniques, enhancing their skills and patient outcomes.
As a key interface between KOLs, sales teams, marketing, and regulatory teams, this role ensures the company maintains a strong clinical leadership position in India.
The role includes:
1. Medical Education Program Development & Execution
Develop and execute training programs for HCPs on Smith & Nephew’s medical device portfolio.
Organize cadaveric workshops, hands-on training, and live surgical demonstrations.
Lead wound care training programs to drive technology adoption.
Implement digital learning tools, webinars, and e-learning modules to expand medical education reach.
Coordinate with global and regional teams to ensure training content aligns with Smith & Nephew’s medical education strategy.
2. KOL & Stakeholder Engagement
Identify, develop, and manage relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in Orthopedics and Wound Care.
Partner with academic institutions, medical associations, and hospitals for training collaborations.
Align training programs with sales, marketing, and clinical teams to ensure business impact.
3. Compliance & Reporting
Ensure all educational programs comply with Indian medical regulations, ethical guidelines, and Smith & Nephew’s internal policies.
Maintain accurate records of training sessions, feedback, and continuous improvement plans.
Work closely with regulatory and legal teams to ensure ethical, evidence-based medical education.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Medicine, or a related field.
Experience:
5+ years in medical education, clinical training, or HCP engagement in the medical device or healthcare industry.
Strong background in orthopedics and wound care.
Experience organizing cadaver labs, hands-on surgical training, and HCP engagement programs.
Familiarity with Smith & Nephew’s product portfolio (or willingness to train on them).
Experience working with digital learning platforms and e-learning tools.
Ability to travel across India and abroad for training programs.

Successful candidates would need the following:
Excellent communication & presentation skills for engaging HCPs.
Clinical and technical expertise in Orthopedics and Wound Care.
Strong project management skills for organizing multiple training programs.
Digital learning & content development experience (e-learning, webinars, interactive content).
Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders in a matrix organization.
