Mechanical Engineer

SPA - Sampling Preparation and Analysis is a Product Business Line within the larger FLSmidth group.

You will be part of the global SPA Engineering Team todesign, engineer and deliverstate-of the art automated and manual Laboratory systems, sampling systems and online analyzer systemswhich exceed the customers’ expectations.

Our team operates from offices based all over the world and this position is based in our Chennai office in India.

You will be dealing with internal and external clients for projects globally. This may require domestic and international travel and the ability to perform your duties autonomously.

• Completion of assigned project tasks on Time (DIFOT)​

  
  

• Completion of tasks within agreed budgeted hours.​

  
  

• Quality of engineering documents​

  
  

• New product development – DFMEA completed for every new design.

  
  

• Execute NCR / RCA/ FEA

  
  

• Responsibility for design integrity of project and products

  
  

• Detail design for projects using both standard products or client-specific requirements

  
  

• Bachelor’s degree (B Eng, B Sc, B.Tech. etc.) in relevant discipline

  
  

• Mechanical preferred, Mechatronics may also apply

  
  

• Master’s degree would be an added advantage

  
  

• Fluent in English verbally as well as written.

  
  

• 8 years’ work experience

  
  

• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team

  
  

• Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects

  
  

• Some knowledge of robotics would be advantageous

  
  

• Experience with working in an international environment

  
  

• Willingness to learn and undergo job specific training (ex. software/project/sampling)

  
  

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  
  

• Computer experience using standard MS Office suite of programs is required,

  
  

• 3D and 2D CAD experience with drafting knowledge, preferably Inventor, Solid Works / EPDM / AutoCAD and Vault

  
  

• Experience with laboratory automated systems preferred

  
  
• Knowledge of mineral sampling systems and manual/automated laboratory products will be an advantage
