Visit our website to learn more!How will you make a difference? In this role you’ll be responsible for leading software testing and test automation for Rail Transportation software products. Manage software testing team for Logistics software products which include Rail Connect, Express Yard and Port Optimizer. Contribute to and drive quality engineering best practices in all areas of QA testing and automation. Own cross-cutting quality engineering tasks and deliver, while mentoring and helping team members. As a manager, you will apply your knowledge of management, software testing methodologies, software engineering best practices, and proven processes to deliver a quality software product on budget, within planned schedule with superb quality. What do we want to know about you? Qualifications / Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, Engineering, or a closely related field of studyA minimum of 10 years of professional experience OR Master’s degree with 8 years of experienceMinimum 2 years of experience in a leadership / management roleLead and mentor team effectively. Able to perform performance reviews.Establish vision, identify and champion internal/external best practices, tools, and ideas to improve execution and quality. Drive an organization of efficiency, accountability, and ownership.Able to verbalize what is behind decisions and downstream implications. Continuously reflecting on success and failures to improve performance and decision-making.  Understands when change is needed. Participates in technical strategy planning.Build & manage a team of highly technical test engineers to implement and integrate applications using the Wabtec Test FrameworkIn-depth knowledge and hands-on experience of industry-standard test automation tools and technologies like Java, Python, Selenium, REST Assured, Appium, JMeter, Gatling, Test NG, Cypress, etc.Good knowledge of CI/CD to support continuous automation and deployment process in a SAFe/Agile environment.Understanding of testing REST APIs and overall system performance using automation tools like JMeter.Experience with any SDLC tracking, defects management and agile project management tools such as Rally, XWiki, Jira, etc.Knowledge of cloud technologies and application performance optimization on AWS based cloud platform.Desired Knowledge, Skills and Characteristics:Good understanding of application and system testing strategies by developing test strategies and framework.Strategic and creative thinking to analyze issues that may arise and create solutions.Able to review team members’ work related to estimation, test strategy, test cases, test results and other work products generated by the team.Ability to respond positively to feedback and implement change in process and procedures as needed.Experienced in developing Test Strategy and Test Plans. Lay out test roadmap for variety of products including web applications, mobile applications, and APIs.Understand problems and scenarios from a customer perspective and suggest creative solutions.Demonstrate awareness about railroad industry, with knowledge on competitors and industry trends.Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts.Evangelize the notion that anything worth doing takes incremental effort and failure. Drive the organization and team towards a continued excitement of attaining the vision and goal in the face of resistance.Continuously measure deliverables of self and team against scheduled commitments. Effectively balance different, competing objectives.Demonstrate deep understanding of competitive landscape, latest trends and technologies in Quality EngineeringTravel requirement may be 10%-20% annually, for customer or quarterly planning activities.What will your typical day look like? Demonstrate very strong technical leadership and people management skills including solid communication and analytical skills with thorough understanding of product development and successful problem definition, decomposition, estimation, and resolution.Deliver software product thoroughly tested for multiple customers across multiple product lines as per the release timelines.Lead technical design, architecture, documentation and implementation of test automation frameworks and best practices.Partner with software architects and engineering manages to make strategic technical decisions as well as technology/tools choices.Responsible for building a world class software system testing team to support the system integration of the Logistics products.Responsible to aligning with cross-functional service team owners to understand scope and designing testing and automation strategies for the same.Validate application and services to ensure the product meets all operational standards and non-functional requirements.Influence decision making through active partnership with cross-functional teams.Coach, mentor and lead a diverse group of lean/agile software quality engineers.Work with product owners across the businesses to understand the product scope, requirements & vision; quickly translate those into demonstrable test validation criteria.Work directly with customers to understand testing needs of business and technical needs.Drive increased efficiency across the teams, eliminating duplication, leveraging product and technology reuse.Support process improvements which guide the development, sustaining & support activitiesSupport in Senior Leadership reporting by providing quality engineering metrics.Communicate effectively both within immediate team and Wabtec leadership.  Ensure team receives consistent messages and has clear understanding of business direction, strategy, and results.Lead and focus a product integration testing to implement, automate and validate the Product deliveries.Other duties as assigned.Our Commitment to Embrace Diversity: Wabtec is a global company that invests not just in our products, but also our people by embracing diversity and inclusion.
