FireTV powers a wide range of smart TVs across the world on many different brands and we are looking for an experienced Software Dev Manager to lead new initiative scaling device introductions across brands and partners. We work closely with both Amazon internal teams and 3P partners and build entertainment products at scale. In this role you will manage multiple 2-Pizza teams, drive the success of future FireTV device launches, overseeing the successful development, launch and sustenance of various programs that make FireTV the entertainment product that customers love.
The role is inherently cross-functional: you will work closely with a high-energy team of software and quality engineers, product managers as well as many other internal and external partners.
This role is a good fit for someone who is organized, thrives in a dynamic environment, and understands the diverse perspectives of stakeholders to deliver complex programs.
The ideal candidate is passionate about product development, interested in TV & video entertainment domain, with an established track of delivering consumer electronic products.
About the team
FireTV 3P engineering team is chartered to bring enchanting FireTV experiences to third party devices. This is an opportunity to design, develop and own the software that disrupts TV viewing experience and impact millions of viewers and devices.
We are spinning up a greenfield engineering team to build tools and technologies which will redefine the way 3P partners build their TVs on FireTV ecosystem. With exciting roadmap and launches planned ahead. FireTV 3P engineering team will independently own, deliver and support end to end product journey for partners.
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
