Production Manager for Service Business Line, PER BU

Valmet is expanding the existing operations in Pune. Performance Parts Business Unit, part of Services Business Line, is establishing Global Production Unit operations as part of this expansion. Performance Parts Global Production Units manufacture Fiber & Paper process parts and Spare & Energy spare parts to our customers to secure high quality of our products, fast lead times and on time deliveries. We also develop our products in cooperation with our Technology Units to meet our customer needs.
We are looking for leader to head our Performance Parts initiatives at our manufacturing facility located at Markal, Pune. Your main responsibility is to ensure the good safety, quality and cost effectiveness of the production in Pune. Your daily duties will consist of leading the operative work in the production including reporting, follow-up and development of the operations. You will be the direct manager for the production team including production supervisors and planners. You report directly to local Production head and in matrix to Production Director, Performance Parts.
This role includes a wide range of different responsibilities, you will lead and develop production process to improve cost competitiveness, profitability and health and safety to support the strategy and targets set by Business Line and Business Unit management.be setting and achieving the overall targets and ensuring that the operations are properly organized, staffed and led. Manage relations and communicate regularly with global and local stakeholders and local authorities as required. support the global Business Unit's growth and profitability targets.by your own example create a safe working environment. Be guiding, motivating and developing your team as well as promote new ways of working and continuous improvement of the processes.
You and your team will work in close co-operation to ensure our production delivery capability and excellent performance.
Who is the professional we are looking for?
To be successful in this role you will have
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related engineering field (example Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering)
previous experience in a manufacturing environment, including active role in improving HSE, quality and efficiency
Exposure to metal fabrication, welding, machining, hard facing, heat treatment processes
Solid knowledge of quality and project management and continuous improvement as well as proven experience with quality tools and standards as well as Lean tools and practices
at least 5 years of experience in leading production team
excellent and proven leadership skills including experience in change management
proven experience of delivering an excellent safety performance
the ability to achieve results in cooperation with multiple different stakeholders
a systematic and analytical way of working
In addition you have motivation and ability to achieve results under pressure with strong sense of responsibility and independence. You have effective written and oral communication skills in English and oral communication skills in Marathi and Hindi with presentation and negotiation skills.
