QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or equivalent area
- 12+ years of total experience in building enterprise software products that are customer facing B2B or B2C products
- 4+ years of successful experience in engineering management of teams of 10-20 people or more
- Experience managing projects in Databricks Spark, Python, and Spark SQL and familiarity with CI/CD
- 4+ years of experience in big data and cloud related technologies including AWS/Azure, SOA with API, REST and distributed systems with Spark/Databricks
- Experience in overseeing multiple data engineering projects and collaborating with stakeholders, including Product Teams, Modeling Teams, and Client Data Teams, to understand their data requirements; ensuring the timely, well-tested, and high-quality delivery of data pipelines that meet their needs
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively
- Previous experience in a high-growth tech company or startup environment; proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skill
- Introduced new technologies and methodologies to enhance data processing and analytics capabilities; established and enforced best practices for data management, quality, and governance
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively

WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will be providing strong technical leadership to design, build, deliver and maintain enterprise software applications and services.
In this role, you will be responsible for full software lifecycle including activities starting from requirement analysis to design, development, implementation and support.
You will aide in continuous improvement by fostering the culture of innovation in the teams to improve quality, application performance, productivity and team efficiency. You will show your proven ability to build a world class software development team and talent management by attracting, hiring, developing and retaining the best talent.
You will help grow engineers’ skills, experience and confidence through regular 1:1s, coaching, actionable feedback, work and peer alignment, and career advocacy. You will empower engineers to solve problems, fostering a balance of velocity and rigor through scalable, asynchronous decision-making practices. You will lead, improve, and steward engineering practices (technical design, implementation, release, and iteration) for our working groups to minimize developer friction and blockages.
You will communicate regularly with stakeholders and adjacent teams to build a shared understanding and accommodation of competing priorities. You will support and guide other people-managers at Periscope as a member of our young engineering management discipline. You will a be an active member of the engineering leadership team in Periscope and a proactive agent for improvement changes across the periscope organization.
