The Sr. Manager Risk holds a pivotal role in advancing the organization's risk management initiatives and ensuring compliance across global functions. This individual will lead the adoption of new tools and programs that strengthen the organization's compliance efforts. They will utilize their influence to shape behaviors, spearhead projects in collaboration with legal, business partners, Product, and Science teams, and foster cross-functional team commitment to upholding Amazon's quality standards and maintaining strict compliance within the RISC organization.
In addition to these responsibilities, the Sr. Manager Risk will oversee a team of risk professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management to ensure the team's effectiveness and alignment with organizational goals. They will be responsible for talent development, succession planning, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the risk management function. The Sr. Manager Risk will also facilitate communication and collaboration among team members, stakeholders, and external partners to drive successful risk management outcomes.
Key job responsibilities
The Sr. Manager Risk holds a pivotal role within the organization, encompassing both strategic oversight and people management responsibilities. A fundamental duty of this position is the meticulous monitoring and analysis of daily, weekly, and monthly risk metrics. The Sr. Manager Risk is tasked with generating comprehensive reports for onsite management teams and integrating these insights into corporate reporting systems.
The Sr. Manager Risk will conduct thorough risk assessments on existing processes and new product assortments, identifying potential vulnerabilities and recommending appropriate risk mitigation strategies to the corporate compliance team. These recommendations may include process improvements, training enhancements, and other measures designed to effectively manage and mitigate identified risks.
In addition to these responsibilities, the Sr. Manager Risk will oversee a team of risk analysts and compliance officers. This includes mentoring and developing team members, facilitating professional growth, and ensuring the team remains aligned with the organization’s risk management goals. The Sr. Manager Risk will also be responsible for performance evaluations, conflict resolution, and fostering a collaborative work environment that promotes excellence in risk management practices.

The Compliance Health team, integral to Worldwide Regulatory Intelligence, Safety, and Compliance (RISC), functions as its 'pulse'. Our mission is to develop and implement risk mitigation processes for our product catalog. We lead initiatives to establish risk metrics, standardize procedures, and streamline processes across RISC teams. This involves identifying process gaps, re-evaluating SOPs, and addressing emerging risk signals. Comprising dedicated subject matter experts, our team is committed to identifying vulnerabilities and reducing risks within our product catalog. Our top priority is risk mitigation, achieved through close collaboration with global program leads to standardize risk reduction processes, thereby enhancing the safety and compliance of our offerings.
6+ years of people management, compliance, audit or risk management experience
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
People Management
Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent
Master's degree or equivalent
