Role Definition
The Manager of Engineering in the Manufacturing PLM & Digital team will be responsible for leading a team of highly competent individuals made up of full-time, contract, and agency employees to deliver high-value solutions to internal business partners across Caterpillar. The role supervises a team focused on data collection, analytics, and visualization who work with facilities around the world to drive value through connected data. In addition to data-focused projects, the role will also lead a team of developers to support facilities in developing applications to streamline business processes and resolve business problems.
Responsibilities
• Managing staffing, development, and performance management programs for engineering teams; motivating and developing project and team leaders.
• Providing specialized engineering technical support and consulting services to various areas of the organization.
• Managing high-impact, short and long duration engineering initiatives and projects; ensuring achievement of engineering plan and product quality.
• Maintaining product release plans and material plans; driving programs to completion on time and within budget.
• Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
