Functional Description


Enterprise Data Governance & Platforms (EDGP) is part of the larger Enterprise Digital and Data Solutions (EDDS) organization.  EDGP improves the customer experience and drives business growth through robust enterprise-wide data policies and governance and enabling a data-driven culture, while developing digital and data platforms that provide insightful customer relationships and allow users to leverage enterprise-wide data capabilities.


Primary Responsibilities:


We are looking for a high-caliber individual who will be responsible for leading control management and business architecture of Customer360 Product on modern technology stack in collaboration with decision science and technology colleagues. The position partners closely with Product Owners and Managers, Engineers, Data Science and possibly external vendors in coming up with next-generation capabilities while enriching the quality of customer demographic data, building intelligence and insights, and supporting modernization of the platform.


What will you do at American Express?


  • Lead ongoing control management and optimize process for smooth successful product release.
  • Support overall program management efforts including tracking project status, managing and escalating risks and issues.
  • Manage specific tracks of product /capability development launch and its release.
  • Define, measure and report on metrics related to product launch, process efficiency and performance.
  • Brainstorm new business architecture with stakeholders to continuously direct them towards best possible solutions.

Qualification Requirements:


  • At least 7+ years of experience in technology product management or data-related products.
  • At least 3+ years Control Management Experience.
  • Experience in Agile Scrum methodology or the Software Delivery Life Cycle.
  • Have strong project management and planning skills applied in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective oral and written communication with the ability to interact effectively with diverse audience across Business and Technical teams.
  • Self-starter who can work independently, has exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills, strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to adjust quickly to shifting priorities, multiple demands, ambiguity and rapid change.
  • Programming experience on Java and Analytical skillset on SQL, Python, HIVEQL and Big Query is preferred.
  • Experience with analytical and API testing tools like Postman, Splunk, Tableau, MS Power BI, MS Excel is preferred
  • Experience and good acumen for analyzing, slicing and dicing data while deriving significant insights
  • Passionate about data-you can create beautiful yet impactful dashboards with effective data visualization
  • You can make sense out of the chaos by diving deep into complex data sets and finding meaningful insights
  • You have a knack for product design and care about frictionless UX journeys to create products that delight users
  • Knowledge of working with agile processes, principles, and teams and familiarity with tools such as Jira, Rally, Confluence
  • Knowledge of Functional and Non-Functional testing; experience with Quality Assurance or User Acceptance Testing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to take independent responsibility of projects/tasks and complete with high-quality
  • Independent thinker who’s organized, has great attention to details, and strong ownership on tasks/projects assigned to you
  • People Management skills – working with Analysts and associates to drive data insights.
  • Information Management, Computer Science, or related Bachelors degree; MBA is a plus.
