ABOUT OUR DAMAGES & VALUATIONS TEAM
As part of our expanding Damages & Valuations team, you will join a select group of the world's foremost experts and advisors. The facts prove it. We are a collaborative team of experienced accountants, economists, PhDs, certified business valuators, investment analysts, and industry specialists – all working together to address the most complex litigation and strategic commercial questions no matter the industry or global location.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in identifying the best approach to individual litigation/arbitration matters to assist the Expert form a robust and defensible independent opinion
- Prepare and execute work plans for a team to deliver an Expert Report in litigation/arbitration
- Conduct economic and industry analyses of past and future performance of complex businesses, including managing the creation and operation of financial models
- Analyse financial and non-financial information, and report findings to other team members
- Apply complex legal concepts to financial analyses
- Develop valuation parameters (such as, for example discount rate) and prepare robust drafting supporting the parameters
- Assist with the preparation of damages and valuation reports, including drafting and incorporating the findings of the team
- Participate in team discussions, challenge senior members of the team in decisions and contribute to a positive team working environment
- Assist with the preparation of critique reports examining the conclusions of other experts identifying the strengths and weaknesses in their positions
- Communicate with clients and counsel
- Prepare for and attend hearings, trials and mediations
- Manage the day-to-day requirements of multiple engagements and run a project with little involvement from senior individuals
- Manage junior level staff, provide coaching and development
- Manage and control the review and Quality Control of work
- Assist in business development pursuits – proposal/presentation preparation and participate in pitch/presentation
- Attend business development meetings/events whether virtual or in person
Requirements
- Requisite professional designations and work experience:
- Fully qualified Chartered Accountant
- ABV, CBV, CFA, CFE, or other relevant certifications preferred
- significant damages/valuation experience
- MBA from an Ivy League university would be preferred
- Detailed understanding of the dispute resolution sector
- Able to develop creative approaches and solutions necessary to resolve complex problems
- Able to quickly assimilate relevant information in unfamiliar situations
- Able to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
- Excellent listening, verbal, written, and presentation skills (ability to speak, write and conduct business in English is required)
- Proficient in Microsoft office skills
- Team player
- Willing to travel internationally
