To help us succeed in this large endeavor, we are looking out for individual who will drive growth and expansion of Amazon's freight transportation services across India by identifying strategic partnerships, developing business networks, and maintaining key relationships with potential and existing customers. You will play a crucial role in scaling Amazon's freight network while evaluating strategic opportunities in one of the world's fastest-growing logistics markets.
Key job responsibilities
Business Development & Sales:
• Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive revenue growth across India
• Prospect, negotiate, and close new business opportunities with medium to large-sized shipping companies
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers across target accounts
• Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets
Partnerships & Network Development:
• Identify and evaluate potential strategic partners including regional transporters, fleet owners, and technology providers
• Create framework for partner evaluation and performance metrics
• Build and manage a robust network of business partners across key logistics corridors in India
• Structure and negotiate partnership agreements that drive mutual business growth
• Collaborate with teams across Operations, Finance, Legal, and Tech for successful execution
Strategic Planning & Analysis:
• Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory environment
• Develop business cases for new initiatives and expansion opportunities
• Work closely with global leaders to benchmark & drive process improvements and standardization initiatives
A day in the life
In this dynamic role, your day involves analyzing opportunities and crafting innovative solutions to complex business challenges. You'll split your time between negotiating deals with partners and building relationships with diverse stakeholders across the organization.
Expect to navigate through ambiguous situations in our fast-paced environment, making strategic decisions that drive business results. The role will involve regular travel (3-4 days every two weeks) across India, where you'll meet partners/customers and strengthen business relationships in person.
About the team
Amazon Freight is an entrepreneurial business where we externalise Amazon line haul services to cater to vendor inbound volumes in our FCs and off-Amazon volume within shipper warehouses in India. We aim to scale to become a trusted, innovative and established line haul service partner in India, built on Amazon’s world-class logistics network, delivery experience and customer service. We partner with retailers of all sizes to simplify their operations, lower their cost, and unlock more sales.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
• 5+ years in freight/logistics sales or business development in India
• Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets in B2B environment
• Strong understanding of Indian transportation industry and logistics ecosystem
• Experience in partner network development and management
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and CRM systems (preferably Salesforce)
• MBA from top-tier institute
• Experience in digital freight brokerage or logistics technology solutions
• Knowledge of Indian transportation regulations and compliance requirements
• Previous experience in high-growth startups or logistics tech companies
• Strong project management skills
• Regional language proficiency (Hindi + one additional Indian language)
