About this and the role
You will provide day-to-day logistics support and expertise in managing logistics issues and resolving exceptions that occur in the transaction and execution of shipment orders within the material flow work process for Marine Packed Cargo (FCL, LCL & ISO), Air shipments, and Small Parcels. You will work in a team focused on Imports to Europe and Exports from Europe. This role requires you to gain proficiency through on-the-job training and experience. You need either deep skills in this discipline or knowledge of a range of processes, procedures, and systems. You also need a broad understanding of the job and know how to apply knowledge and skills to complete assigned tasks. You should understand how your team works with others and the freight forwarders which manage the booking process to accomplish objectives and be able to exchange detailed, complicated information with other team members.You are responsible for evaluating analytical problems in unusual situations, often under time pressure, and selecting solutions based on established procedures. You will serve as an informal resource on operational, administrative, data organization, or coordination tasks for our diverse freight forwarders (3PL & 4PL). Your performance will impact the quality, timeliness, and effectiveness of the modal success for a business unit. You should be able to modify work practices and processes to achieve results and/or improve efficiency.
Responsibilities
Monitor and split jumbo deliveries which cannot be split automatically.
Monitor and offer orders which can’t be offered automatically.
Update equipment type tables and loanability table in SAP.
Provide support to LSP on request.
Revenue recognition: If ETS date changes result in a month change, check for an alternative solution with ITO/Planning/LSP.
Monitor daily operations and escalate/resolve exceptions (on-time booking, on-time shipping, no show, vessel rolls, etc.).
Document and report exceptions for improvement
Qualifications
Bachelor degree.
3+ years of experience in Logistics, Accounts Payable, or Purchasing.
Critical competencies required for success: understanding customer needs, teamwork and collaboration, taking initiative, time management, attention to detail and handling multiple tasks, interpersonal effectiveness, communication, technical proficiency in the use of computer applications (Excel knowledge, ECC navigation).
