A leading SEBI-registered Alternate Asset Management Firm in Mumbai is seeking an experienced candidate for the position of: Legal & Compliance Officer

Role & responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with SEBI AIF regulations and other legal statutes.
- Policy Implementation: Develop and enforce fund compliance and all statutory/ regulatory policies.
- Legal Documentation: Draft, review, and negotiate agreements for investments, partnership and other operational matters. Ensure all legal terms and complied on regular basis.
- Risk Assessment: Provide legal guidance and evaluate risks for corporate transactions.
- Liaison: Coordinate with all external legal counsel and regulatory bodies, and internal teams.
- Audits & Reviews: Conduct legal audits, identify gaps, and ensure timely rectification.
- Advisory Role: Advise on legal trends and their impact on business operations. provide necessary legal guidance on an ongoing basis.
- Corporate Governance: Uphold ethical standards and governance principles.
Preferred - candidate profile
- Expertise: In-depth knowledge of SEBI AIF, PIT, and AML compliances and regulations (mandatory)
- Education: Qualified Company Secretary (CS) with a degree in Law (LLB).
- Preferred: NISM Series-III-A Compliance Certification.
Skills: Legal drafting, risk analysis, regulatory compliance, negotiation, and strong communication abilities.
