As a Lead Workday Integration Developer, you will:
• Serve as the subject matter expert for a large ecosystem of Workday integrations.
• Lead the design, development, testing, and delivery of new Workday Integrations.
• Create detailed integration specifications, field mappings, and designs to support delivery of new integration capabilities.
• Troubleshoot integration issues and provide sustainable, long-term solutions in collaboration with internal and external teams.
• Research integration failures, perform root cause analyses, and develop actionable plans to drive Workday strategy forward.
• Design and build integrations, architecture, and workflows between core enterprise applications.
Role:
The Lead Software Engineer, Workday Integrations will participate in Workday integration technical designs and ensure successful delivery of Workday Integration solutions. In this role, you will:
• Manage the design, implementation, and delivery of Workday integration projects.
• Collaborating with Workday functional teams to translate business requirements into integrated Workday platform solutions.
• Leading the integrations workstream of projects by scoping, gathering requirements, documenting, implementing, and supporting solutions using the Workday integration platform toolset.
• Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining custom applications using the Workday Extend platform and related technologies (e.g., Java, XML, XSLT, SOAP, REST, JavaScript, Python).
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of hands-on experience building and supporting Workday integrations.
• Strong experience with Workday Studio, connectors (Core Connectors, PECI/PICOF, WECI), EIBs, Custom Reports, BIRT, and document transformation.
• Expertise in Workday Studio, SOAP API, REST API, Import API patterns.
• Deep passion for Workday technology, automation, and business problem-solving.
• Demonstrated leadership, with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently in an Agile environment.
• Experience in designing and developing complex integrations using web service technologies (SOAP, REST, WSDL, XML, XSLT).
All About You:
• Ability to analyze existing integration landscapes to identify technical debt related to functionality, performance, error handling, and scalability.
• Deep knowledge of Workday Integration toolsets including Workday Connectors, EIBs,Studio, SOAP API and REST API
• Ability to translate business requirements to system configuration.
• Experience documenting business processes, procedures, scripts, and workflows.
• Able to communicate with both technical teams and business functional leaders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
• Experience with Workday Extend, JavaScript, and Python
• Experience in an Agile development environment.
• Workday Certification is a plus
