MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
Manages teams with focus on policy and strategy implementation and control rather than development.
Short-term operational/tactical responsibilities.
Responsible for designing, developing, implementing and updating electronic data systems in accordance with the needs of the organisation.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
•Under general direction, participates as high level technical expert in design development, coding, testing, and debugging new software or significant enhancements to existing software.
•Works with technical staff to understand problems with software and develops specifications to resolve them.
•Activities include evaluating, scheduling and resourcing development projects, investigating user needs, writing, testing and maintaining computer programs, and preparing systems documentation.
•Resolves customer complaints and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
•Participates in the development of software user manuals.
•May act as team leader on less complex projects.
•Assists in training less experienced software development staff.

Education
Bachelors Degree (± 16 years)
