Job Title:Lead Scientist : Electronic Materials IMEA region
Summary:The person in this position will technically lead the new business opportunities in IMEA region for Electronics segment. The successful candidate as part of global EM segment will be based out of CRD-Bangalore and support IMEA commercial team to identify important business opportunities and work through Momentive’s NPI process for development and commercialization. This involves translation of global products to the region and/or indigenous development catering to customer’s specific needs . Additionally work towards localization of production with the support of Chennai Plant
Responsibilities Include:- Visit customers in the region for technical discussions to understand their needs. Prepare visit report
- Based on the report, prepare comprehensive Desirability, Feasibility & Viability (DFV) analysis and lead discussion with global marketing and segment leader to seek approval aligned with strategy
- Prepare customer and competitive product mapping in IMEA region
- For translations or tweaks , collaborate with global Segment R&D (Japan, China, Germany , Korea) to identify the existing products or offsets, optimize to cater the current needs under the recommended price points.
- For new developments, Design and execute original ideas to generate innovative and differentiating technology . Develop comprehensive project execution plan and Gantt chart.
- Lead project implementation with regular updates to stakeholders and senior leadership team. Periodic discussion with customers on progress
- Develop good working relationship with global ADE and Marcomm teamand foster constructive discussion
- Lead translation of the technology to manufacturing by working with multiple adjacencies
- Develop good understanding of EM Portfolio, product offerings, marketing brochures , SDS and TDS
- Build inventory of resins, key intermediates and fillers at CRD in collaboration with Ohta / China R&D and manufacturing plant
- Conduct MSA of all testing equipment’s and test procedure’s at CRD for EM
- Conduct routine laboratory procedures for the preparation and evaluation of various silicone-based formulated materials and conduct thorough testing and Gauge R&R. Use Sig Sixma tools wherever appropriate
- Collaborate with CRD for new tool boxes, analytical methods, . Secure inventive elements via strategic IP Filing
- Prepare materials and packaging related to any R&D activities including the designed experiment's products developmental grades confirmed by the manager which is aiming for customer evaluations.
- Physical properties evaluation with an evaluation guide for Electronics products as part of Technical data sheet
- Follow ISO/EHS guidelines and record daily lab activities in a laboratory notebook.
- Guiding and mentoring technician
20-30% of travel within India (Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi primarily)for customer visit
Qualifications:The following are required for the role
- PhD with 5+ years of job exp Or M.S./M Tech with 8+ years of research/work experience
- Major in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Polymer Science, Formulation Science, or related field
- Familiarity with basic chemical principles and experience with routine laboratory operations
- Good Written and Verbal English communication capability
Preferred qualifications
- Proven examples of developing new and differentiating technology
- Experience in Developing formulations from scratch
- Experience in characterization and evaluation of physical properties. (Viscosity, Hardness, Adhesion etc.)
- Ability to interact with customer
- 2-3 experience into Application development or technical support in the field of Electronic materials will be preferable
- Experience in electronic products would be most preferrable
