Overview Lead Engineer (W) role will be global in nature and architecture guidance will be critical to PepsiCo Global Transformation initiatives related to Next Generation Enterprise Network (SD-WAN, Extranet, DNS, Wi-Fi, LAN, MAN, WAN and VOIP/Video Conferencing) The Lead Engineer (W) will be a member of the Global Infrastructure Architecture & Engineering organization. This resource will serve as a wireless engineer in the area of Network Architecture and Engineering. The resource will provide thought leadership, provide technical oversight, and ensure that network solutions meet PepsiCo requirements. The Lead Engineer (W) will work closely with the sector delivery leads, infrastructure engineers and SMEs, and IT engineers and architects. The recipient should demonstrate experience across key infrastructure domains including Network, Compute and Database, Cloud, IT Service Management, Collaboration and Security. Responsibilities Build an architecture community for the Network domain to define enterprise technology standards, facilitate leverage and re-use, and ensure successful delivery of global Network Services across the enterprise. This wireless engineer will drive standardization and simplification across the existing environments and develop roadmaps to reduce overall total cost of ownership (TCO) for the Network domain. Development, refinement, publishing, and socialization of patterns, policies and guidelines, and technology standards Ensuring the successful deployment of network solutions Provide guidance and recommendations to the Infrastructure Architecture teams on standards and designs. Effectively presenting facts and recommendations in oral and written form Qualifications In depth experience and knowledge of Networking technologies is required. Demonstrated experience serving as a network architect in a large firm with emphasis on Software Driven Core Network for- Extranet, DNS, Wi-Fi, VOIP WAN, MAN and LAN. Comprehensive understanding of wireless technologies like 802.11, cisco wireless products WLC9800, Embedded WLC, Access points, voice and video communications platforms, end-user device technologies, as well as collaboration/sharing platforms Extensive knowledge in wireless security 802.1x, WAP2\PSK, WPA3, EAP. Must have knowledge and understanding of NAC (CPPM\ISE). Certification required CWNA, ECSE, CCNA-W or Collaboration, CCNP-W or collaboration. Must have experience guiding multiple projects, leading vendor selections and negotiations, and a strong understanding of the vendors and technologies. Proven ability in managing large scale infrastructure refreshes, consolidating and modernizing technology footprints, cloud integration and migration, and network traffic/capacity optimization. Experience working in a global environment with stakeholders across multiple geographies. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven track record of translating strategies into plans that can be effectively executed. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline; 7+ years in the Information Technology field, with 5+ plus years as a Wireless engineer.
