We are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer in Bangalore to lead our DevOps team and drive the development and deployment of cutting-edge solutions in a fast-paced environment. We have a great skill set in DevOps and we would love to speak with you if you have skills in ABC (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, AWS).
About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments
- At least 7 years of relevant professional experience in Devops, Terraform, Kubernates, Jenkins, AWS
- Strong MS Office Skills (Excel with VBA, PowerPoint)
- At least 3 years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure automation, and cloud technologies.
- At least 3+ years of experience in a leadership or senior technical role, managing and mentoring teams.
- Deep knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, etc.).
- Experience with version control systems (Git).
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred, preferably in a quantitative or technical field
It would be great if you also had
- Good analytical, verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills due to the number of internal customers they will be required to support
- Experience with serverless architecture.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
What will you be doing in this role?
Technical Leadership & Development:
- Interact with the lead software development organization, gathering build requirements, providing status updates, and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.
- Oversee the build & maintenance of source control systems & software environments.
- Monitor/measure efficacy of the automation infrastructure and implement continuous improvements.
- Create capabilities and utilities to support the development organization and streamline DevOps workflows.
- Propose, develop, review, and revise procedures for high-quality system development and CI/CD automation.
- Oversee infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Cloud Development Kits (CDKs), along with scripting languages like Python.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins (GitHub Actions), integrating automated testing frameworks to ensure high-quality, continuous delivery.
- Implement containerization and orchestration solutions (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform) to streamline application deployment and scalability.
- Utilize advanced monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (e.g., Datadog, along with other monitoring tools) to ensure reliability, proactive incident detection, and quick resolution.
- Integrate security best practices (DevSecOps) within pipelines and environments, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation across all stages of development.
- Maintain a deep understanding of AWS architecture, including services, networking, Unix/Linux administration, disaster recovery methodologies, and cloud security best practices.
- Stay up to date on emerging DevOps technologies and evaluate new tools for continuous improvement.
Ownership, Knowledge Retention & Team Development:
- Maintain consistent documentation for all assigned tasks and ensure the team is sufficiently trained.
- Drive in-house expertise development, ensuring knowledge retention and minimizing long-term reliance on external resources.
- Work closely with contractors and external teams, ensuring effective collaboration while progressively internalizing key DevOps functions.
- Foster a strong internal DevOps leadership pipeline, ensuring long-term operational stability.
- Agile & Project Management Oversight:
- Implement Agile best practices, ensuring structured, trackable, and transparent workflows using tools like JIRA.
- Establish project governance, enforcing visibility, accountability, and traceability across all DevOps initiatives.
- Oversee project forecasting, tracking effort vs. budget while optimizing operations to maintain healthy project status.
- Ensure timely delivery and revenue recognition by improving estimation accuracy, reducing operational bottlenecks, and aligning DevOps efforts with business goals.
- Collaborate with Clarivate’s central technology team to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities for AWS and other cloud services.
- Act as the primary liaison between the LS&H Technology Consulting DevOps team and Clarivate’s wider tech leadership, ensuring alignment on infrastructure strategies, security policies, and best practices.

We specialize in creating bespoke solutions that leverage technology to add value to client workstreams and solve their problems. Our clients are primarily pharma and biotech companies. We operate as a small but highly capable cross-functional team, managing the entire project lifecycle—from business development to discovery meetings, solution design, and execution. The team works across technology stacks, including front-end, back-end, and DevOps, to deliver tailored solutions. Projects vary in focus, ranging from data pipelines and analytics to dashboard creation. Using a modern tech stack, including Python, R, SQL, Tableau, and Power BI, we deliver data-driven business intelligence and analytics solutions to uncover actionable insights and support strategic decision-making. Hours of Work
This is a full-time position based in Bangalore, operating in a hybrid mode. Working 2–3 days per week in the office is compulsory. Flexibility in working hours is essential, as we collaborate with internal teams and clients across multiple time zones.
