Job Description:

The Business Intelligence & Risk Reporting team is responsible for providing actionable, data-driven insights to help Credit Administration (Second Line of Defense) understand, evaluate, predict, and report inherent & emergent risk within the Enterprise.


We seek a Lead Analyst whose primary focus is to deliver analytic and reporting efforts as it pertains to the creation of complex internal credit reporting requested by regulatory agencies. The individual will translate data into actionable solutions and promote data driven decisions to drive our regulatory focused initiatives. This individual will work cross-functionally to identify business/process issues, explore data sources, consolidate, and analyze datasets to generate executable insights for the end-to-end automation initiatives. The ability to communicate effectively with all business parties on results and the passion for using data and analytics to drive business value is key to success in this role


Responsibilities:
  • Delivers intelligence & insights to end-users and key stakeholders through execution of the data visualization lifecycle, which includes but is not limited to:
  • Leading detailed business requirements gathering.
  • Translating business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Engaging in data identification, data analysis, and data profiling.
  • Partnering with the Credit Data & Credit Systems Teams to procure data.
  • Developing dashboards in accordance with approved requirements.
  • Making iterative enhancements to dashboards & solutions based on stakeholder feedback.
  • Supporting the productionalization & owning the maintenance of a portfolio of dashboards.
  • Monitoring reporting for potential data anomalies or issues with logic execution.
  • Providing daily support for end-users.
  • Creating & maintaining technical documentation.
  • More broadly, supports the completion of annual, quarterly, monthly, and ad hoc reporting deliverables based on the requirements. Follows up on inconsistencies or issues, provides recommendations for resolution, and ensures timely adherence.
  • Plans and implements continues improvement of reporting and data assets through automation & rationalization.
  • Develops and maintains area(s) of technical knowledge and expertise, engaging with other team members in project reviews and technical consultations.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge & skills regarding analytical tools, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Manages workload in accordance with priorities to deliver quality, timely results.
  • Establishes effective, cross-functional relationships to enable successful collaboration & thought-sharing.

Qualifications:
  • To ensure proper fit with these Qualifications of the role, skills listed on resumes will undergo a technical assessment as part of the interview process.
  • Strong SQL skills and deep understanding of relational database models.
  • Command understanding of Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, and Business Intelligence Methodologies & Best Practice.
  • Advanced skillset in data querying, manipulation, & wrangling through use of SQL, and/or other domain-specific relational languages or general-purpose programming languages to produce compelling visualizations using Tableau (in the event data elements are not readily available in a reporting layer environment).
  • Advanced experience in transforming business specifications into well documented requirements which ultimately translate into production processes (e.g., documentation of design decisions, operational guidelines, and other similar processes).
  • Ability to identify, analyze, interpret, and then story tell complex datasets to end-users in a relatable & understandable manner thus enabling data-driven decision making.
  • Ability to partner and collaborate with a team of data engineers to create data pipelines and stages.
  • Experience with managing the full lifecycle of the data visualization design process.
  • Experience with both observational/diagnostic analytics
  • Experience with data cleansing and testing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize, self-direct and execute at velocity in a dynamic, ever-changing environment. This includes flexibility to work/manage variety of projects as priority dictates.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships amongst stakeholders (technical and non-technical) from across the organization.
  • Strong discretion with an eye for data governance and compliance
  • Undergraduate degree or technical equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in analytics and/or business intelligence field, with a focus on data.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Tableau Specialist Certification and/or Tableau Desktop Associate Certification.
  • Experience with SQL stored procedures.
  • Experience with data pipeline tools such as Tableau Prep and/or Alteryx.
  • Background in Banking/Finance industry.
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
