As a Lead Consultant - Solution Architect at AstraZeneca, you will be at the forefront of architecting solutions that enable business capabilities, aligning with our IT strategy, roadmap, principles, and standards. You will collaborate with other Architects in the Manufacturing domain to ensure that our technical solutions adhere to defined reference architectures and technology standards. Your role will be pivotal in providing IT architectural expertise and technical direction for system development and integration projects, specializing in at least one architecture domain.
Accountabilities
As the Solution Architect for IGNITE: Operations IT (MAKE) Architecture, you will be responsible for the solution architecture and design across AstraZeneca’s Operations Manufacturing (MAKE) domain, focusing on Data & Analytics, Digital, and IIOT capabilities. You will bridge the gap between IT and OT securely and futuristically. Your responsibilities will include:
Crafting architectures and solution blueprints for projects or solutions addressing business/application/data/infrastructure requirements.
Collaborating with Business Analysis and Solution Engineering functions to support functional & technical requirements management, including driving software selection processes.
Ensuring that solution architectures and designs are robust and address business, application, information, and infrastructure architectural requirements.
Partnering with project managers, business analysts, and solution engineers to create solutions aligned with AstraZeneca architecture standards and principles.
Providing solution design support in focused domains of architecture: Business, Data, Application, Infrastructure.
Conducting AZ architectural reviews throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensuring compliance with existing EA guidelines and standards.
Chipping in to project and service teams in developing, implementing, and maintaining standard architectural components.
Working with third-party suppliers to verify technical development and delivery alignment to the Architecture Roadmap, Blueprint, and Information Services Strategy.
Detailing all architecture analysis and design work.
Developing solid understanding and expertise in at least one architecture domain.
Chipping in to the development of the Architecture Capability within Information Services by documenting and sharing knowledge and standard processes with peer Architects.
Essential Skills/Experience
Relevant technical degree or equivalent
Proven development/design experience in at least one technical domain
Experience with manufacturing platforms and domain-related technologies such as MES, Historian, OEE solutions, IIoT, Edge technology, cloud, zero-trust, OT, Relational Databases and Big Data technologies, AI/ML, data streaming, data modeling, real-time inference
Proven experience in IT/OT strategy development and execution, preferably in a senior role
Good understanding of IT/OT architectures, systems, standards, and technologies including ISA95, IEC62443, cloud computing, networking, cybersecurity, and industrial automation
Experience developing innovative solutions, blueprints, and standards for solution design
Experience implementing and maintaining business solution architectures under any formal framework for their domain of architecture
Experience developing and being a great partner with 3rd party suppliers
Desirable Skills/Experience
Demonstrated initiative, strong customer orientation, and cross-cultural working
Experience in developing/maturing an architectural practice
