Job Title: Lead Consultant - I&O Edge, Database & Middleware

Introduction to Role:
Join us at AstraZeneca as a Lead Consultant in our IT department, where you'll be driving innovation in the realm of Enterprise Edge & Hybrid Cloud technologies. This role is pivotal in ensuring that AZ technical solutions are delivered to AZ defined reference architecture and technology standards. You'll be working on strategic planning over a 1-5 year horizon, developing architecture standards, roadmaps, and blueprints across a broad range of Edge, Cloud, Hybrid Cloud, and Technical Domains. 


Accountabilities:
As a Lead Consultant, you'll be responsible for providing enterprise thinking and solution design support in the Enterprise Edge – RDBMS capability. You'll also provide support/consultancy in other domains. You'll take ownership for and lead the development and implementation of technology roadmaps and strategies. You'll work with Operations, Business Analysis, and Solution Engineering functions and support functional & technical requirements management. You'll also ensure that solution architectures and designs are highly resilient and address business, application, information, and infrastructure architectural requirements.


Essential Skills/Experience:
- Strong networking skills with good internal/external links and Open Source/Community awareness.
- Well developed communication and facilitation skills.
- Ability to interpret and communicate technical information into business language.
- Awareness of developments in the Enterprise edge, and understanding of its potential impact to AZ IS.
- Core skills (or equivalence) to include a majority of the following Scripting, programming, Jira, Linux, Windows, Storage & Backup, Configuration Knowledge in Ansible, Chef Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), VMWare, Logging (EFK, Splunk), Monitoring (Prometheus), Database – Oracle/MS SQL /MySQL /MongoDB/ Postgress/(Open Source), AI & ML techniques.



- Demonstrates initiative, strong customer orientation, and cross-cultural working.
- Experience in developing/maturing an architectural practice.
- Development knowledge and experience of scripting or programming languages.
- Proven business acumen.
- Understanding of the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry and of competitor activity.
