Job Description: Lake Monitoring Intern

We are looking for a passionate Lake Monitoring Intern to help scout lakes with eutrophic conditions in India's southern and western regions. You'll collect water and sediment samples, take photos, and communicate with labs to identify harmful algal blooms (HABs).

Key Responsibilities:

• Scout and document eutrophic lakes through field observations and photos.
• Collect samples and coordinate with labs for HAB analysis.
• Measure water quality parameters (pH, DO, conductivity, etc.).
• Assist scientists with data collection and reporting.

Qualifications:

• Pursuing/completed degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology or related fields.
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Enthusiasm for working outdoors and conducting fieldwork

Working Conditions:

• This position requires part-time availability onsite at different waterbodies across these states:
  South India: Telangana, Goa, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala
  West India: Gujarat, Maharashtra

• Fieldwork may involve working in different weather conditions
• The role demands physical activity, including carrying equipment and conducting sampling on-site
