Position Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled L3 Middleware Administrator/SME to manage, support, and optimize complex middleware systems. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of middleware technologies such as Apache Webserver, Apache Tomcat, Apache Solr, Oracle WebLogic, Oracle HTTP Server, Oracle Java, and related components. As an L3 specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert-level troubleshooting, architectural guidance, and resolution of complex technical issues that L2 and L1 teams cannot address. You will also drive improvements in middleware architecture and performance, as well as mentor and guide junior team members.


What you'll do:


  • Lead the design and architecture of middleware solutions, ensuring they align with business goals and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to create reliable and scalable middleware architectures.
  • Develop documentation, architectural diagrams, and best practice guidelines.
  • Implement automation scripts for deployment, configuration management, and monitoring using tools like Ansible or Puppet.
  • Middleware Administrator supports and documents the installation, configuration, capacity planning, upgrading, problem resolution and debugging of all middleware product environments 
  • Self-motivated and possess drive, and ability to work independently and be a good team player. 
  • Recommend and lead improvements to provide the highest level of availability and performance 
  • Provide proactive support to maintain high availability and reliability of middleware systems.
  • Follows policies and procedures to ensure corporate compliance, examples include corporate data security and change controlCoordinate with engineering, solution vendors and support teams on problem resolution, design issues and upgrades 

What you need to bring:


  • Extensive experience with middleware technologies including Apache Webserver, Apache Tomcat, Apache Solr, Oracle WebLogic, Oracle HTTP Server, Oracle Java, SSL certificates (e.g., Digicert, Let's Encrypt), and load balancers like Netscaler.
  • Strong expertise in advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and issue resolution for middleware systems.
  • Proven experience in middleware architecture and design for large-scale environments.
  • Work closely with development, DevOps, and operations teams to ensure seamless application integration and performance.
  • Deep understanding of middleware architecture, performance tuning, and system optimization.
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable, highly available, and resilient middleware solutions.
  • Strong familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Ansible) and proactive monitoring solutions.
  • Strong knowledge with monitoring tools like Dynatrace, Datadog and SolarWinds etc
  • Ability to work with large-scale distributed systems and handle complex integration tasks.
  • Proven experience in managing production environments and high-availability systems.
  • Scripting - BASH / Python
  • Strong Unix / Linux & Windows operating systems 
  • Good understanding on Networking & Load balancer Concepts.
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members on middleware administration, best practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Strong Database fundamentals
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
