What you'll do:Job Description:
- Provide remote support for Compute infrastructure, Oneview application throughout the lifecycle of a deal in accordance with contractually established terms and conditions and established technical standards.
- Windows / Hyper-V administration.
- Provides technical input, solutions, and recommendations to deal pursuit.
- Engages in and provides support for transition/ transformation efforts.
- Monitors service delivery compliance with budget, quality standards, and customers and/ or internal businesses/ end user requirements.
- Provides IT infrastructure and/ or application infrastructure lifecycle technical support, including planning, project management, installation, on- going management/ monitoring/ troubleshooting, and de- installation, following operational policies and processes that are compliant with industry standards (e.g. Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)).
- Manages the technical/ service relationship between the company and the customer, and between the company and subcontractors/ vendors.
- Works with the key customers and/ or internal businesses/ end user representatives (Infrastructure Support Managers, Client Manager and the Account Delivery Manager) to retain customers and build the business.
Responsibilities:
- Apply technical knowledge to perform Operate and admin tasks on Compute hardware and windows.
- Integrate technical knowledge and business understanding to create superior solutions for the company and for customers.
Incident Management:
- Resolve technical incidents independently within your technical area. Work with team members/vendors to resolve more complex or cross- technology incidents.
Escalation Management:
- Identify potential escalations and alert management proactively.
Problem Management:
- Begin to proactively and reactively provide solutions to prevent problems from occurring in area of responsibility.
Change Management/ Implementation:
- Independently reviews, implements, and verifies changes/ solutions of moderate complexity and risk to meet customer and/or IT infrastructure needs within area(s) of technical responsibility.
Configuration Management:
- Ensure Configuration Management Database (CMDB) entries are complete and accurate.
What you need to bring:Technical & Business Skills
- 6+ years of demonstrated experience in service and support of Server/Windows /Hyper-V products.
Must Have skills:
Windows Server Administration:
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments (Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022).
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and other critical Windows Server services.
- Troubleshoot server issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Perform patch management, updates, and system security measures on Windows Servers
Hyper-V Virtualization:
- ·Deploy, manage, and optimize Hyper-V virtualization solutions.
- Design and manage Hyper-V clusters for high availability and disaster recovery.
- Ensure effective backup, replication, and recovery for virtualized workloads.
- Manage virtual machines (VMs), including creation, optimization, migration, and troubleshooting.
Compute / Server Hardware:
- Broad technical knowledge on HPE ProLiant / ISS solutions, Synergy & C7000 Hardware– Installing, Configuring & Troubleshooting of C7000 enclosures, Synergy frames, Virtual Connects, Blade Switches- SAS,Ethernet & FC, Blades & Storage Blades
- Knowledge on SAN, NAS technologies ( Ethernet / iSCSI, FC, FCOE)
- Knowledge on DAS Storage & HBAs – Smart Array /RAID, SSDs SAS, SATA etc
- Basics of Networking (Vlan concepts, Analyzing switch logs, Jumbo frames, flow control etc.)
- Basic Operating Systems Knowledge – Install & Configuring VMware, RHEL, SUSE(as Bare-Metal OS & as VMs on Hypervisors)
- Knowledge in Oneview 1.0 to 9.X - Installing, Configuring & Troubleshooting its Dumps
- Troubleshooting OS logs for hardware issues from VM-support, HPSreport, SOSreport, Support-Config etc
General Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of on-premise and cloud environments.
- Provide guidance and troubleshooting support for end-users and internal teams.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Maintain disaster recovery plans and implement business continuity strategies.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Windows Server, Hyper-V, and other technologies, and recommend improvements to existing infrastructure.
Technical Skills:
- Compute Hardware: HPE ProLiant / ISS solutions, Synergy & C7000 Hardware– Installing, Configuring & Troubleshooting of C7000 enclosures, Synergy frames, Virtual Connects, Blade Switches- SAS, Ethernet & FC, Blades & Storage Blades
- Operating Systems: Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022.
- Virtualization: Hyper-V, Virtual Machine Manager (VMM), Hyper-V Clustering. Tools & Scripting: PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM Templates, and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
- Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, Load Balancing, Networking.
- Security & Compliance: Knowledge of IT security best practices, including firewalls, encryption, authentication protocols (LDAP, SSO, MFA), and data protection standards.
- Backup & Recovery: Veeam, Azure Backup, Hyper-V Replica.
Below technical skills will be an added advantage:
- Superdome Flex HW
- RMC management Knowledge
- Knowledge on Cray and other high performance computing products
- Implement and manage Azure-based solutions and services (e.g., Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Networking, Azure Storage).
- Assist in the migration of on-premises workloads to the Azure cloud platform.
- Develop and implement security strategies for Azure environments, including Azure Active Directory, role-based access control (RBAC), and resource security.
- Monitor and optimize cloud performance, cost management, and scalability on Azure.
- Create and maintain Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates and automate deployment processes with Azure DevOps or other automation tools.
