Position Summary:
This role is responsible for Technical Administration team. The individual will be a people leader, who will be supporting, coaching and mentoring the team of highly potential Application System Administrator or Database Administrator. This leader will work very close to development, Infrastructure and functional leaders who are responsible for the project delivery and work with the team to align the vision, expectation, roadmap and performance.
This role is responsible for the designing, support and implementation of all the stages in Plan – Build - Run. Managers work with different leaders from development, infrastructure and functional teams to create cutting-edge solutions. They have general expertise in large SAP implementation, nonSAP product implementation. They manage a team of SAP Basis, Technical Administrator and DBA’s, provide guidance to them in delivering the services in this area.
Job Description:
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Primary point of contact for all SAP Basis, Technical Administration and DBA issues. Will work closely with Cloud, Infosec, Infrastructure architects, Cloud engineering, Cloud operations and other infrastructure teams for deployment and support of Cloud resources, troubleshoot and resolve problems. Interface with the Basis team in Europe and North Americas to effectively manage the workload. Manage the team of high performing individuals in the area of SAP Basis, Technical Administration and DBA. Coordinate with other Basis product leads to ensure software consistency across the SAP landscape. Will participate in the IT Change Management process and validate/approval all SAP related changes. Keeps abreast of new developments and forecasts of future trends in the areas of SAP technology. Works with internal and external customers to understand their requirements to form a forward-thinking architectural vision for the infrastructure of the Company. Provide input on and support new projects affecting the SAP environments. Participate in defining delivery model. Engage and interface directly with SAP as required for product support/questions. Advises on options, risks, costs versus benefits and impact on other business processes and system priorities; contributes to cost versus benefit measures. Leads projects and is responsible for deliverables. Works on multiple, high to highly complex projects in parallel. Coordinates between internal requestors and the production team in order to schedule production release updates and upgrades. Develops processes and oversees the installation of upgrades and patches for the different applications. Creates and oversees all necessary technical checklists to ensure completion of upgrades. Defines procedures for user access servers, files and databases. Assesses risk of implemented changes before performing them. Responds to escalated system problems. Monitors and maintains a comprehensive set of performance metrics for all system features. Identifies risk levels and recommends and implements corrective/preventive actions. Maintains history reports, identifies and addresses re-occurring problems. May develop online help and update systems support help scripts. Creates automation scripts for efficiency and process improvement. Engages with industry groups in relevant forums.
Experience & Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or any other related discipline or equivalent related experience. 7+ years of directly-related or relevant experience with 2+ years in a managerial capacity, in technical administration (SAP Basis/Oracle DBA).
